razing cities should only effect diplomacy, it has nothing to do with happiness

Well they kind of going the wrong way then. I don't remember Dutch and Belgium civilians running towards Germany during WWII.

Pop, science, gold, culture - why CiV seems odd

Build/training times are so painfully slow and maintaining a large army can cripple your economy. I guess rush buying is there so that you can quickly pump out some much needed reinforcements if an enterprising neighbour decides to take advantage of your momentary military weakness.

    The Rant of Khan

GL = Great Library CS = City States There was a link posted to a page that had all these acronyms but I forgot to bookmark it. :( Edit: Wait, CS means something different in this context but I don't know what it is. Classical stage??!

    What is your favorite Civilization?

I like the Russians for their small production bonus on strategic resources and the Krespost which allows for faster border expansion. Cossacks are murder on infantry but for whatever reason, I don't use them as much as swordsmen and archers. Funny thing is, the CiV art book says that the...

War, What is it Good For?

    - To settle old grudges. Those pesky AI really push it by bringing the crowns and heads of conquered kings to my city steps, they insult my queen, they threaten my people with slavery and death! - To maintain a balance of power in a region. I tried this in a multiplayer game (with friends) but...

    Don't hurt me, but...

Don't laugh at me, but this is what I thought ICS for. :(

    the appearance of iron

All resource locations are predetermined during map generation, which is why you see the AI building cities in seemingly odd places far away from the rest of their empire. You later find that they nicked off with your oil/aluminium/uranium.

    Civilization 5 Rants Thread

Forgetful AI (said previously) that won't sign a pact of secrecy after you declined to do so the turn before. "We've been over this and the answer is still no!" What? I could have sworn it was me who said no. Hey did you forget that we signed a research agreement? So why the hell are you...

Stupid hard level 8 AI,specially in diplomacy

If the AI settles right next to your borders, doesn't that irritate you? If the AI takes that fertile patch of land surrounded by strategic and luxury resources that you've been eyeing for several turns, don't you make plans to invade and raze that city amongst others? If the AI builds a wonder...

    Addiction

I fail to finish most games, usually because of war. Traffic jams can be incredibly annoying and redeploying troops takes far too long with less roads. Population happiness also drives me crazy, especially after a deal to trade luxuries expires and you rocket up to 20 angry faces erasing most of...

[CIV 5 Issues] - The complete list

I had a strange encounter with George Washington the other day. He asked why I was massing troops at his border. I didn't even know where he was and most of my army was in or near my territory fighting barbarians. I think the AI might have confused my territory with their territory because GW...

How much should 2K be charging for DLC?

Just a question? Will we have to pay upkeep and how will inflation affect these costs?

    DLC will you buy them?

Five maps, two of which were already in CoD:MW. Roughly the same price for each map so no, just as bad as Activision. Activision are the new evil in town followed very closely by 2k Games.

    DLC will you buy them?

Nope.avi Simply because I don't want to reinforce Activision's MW2 model for the Civilization series.

Fan Noises drowns out gameplay enjoyment.

I use headphones so I don't really hear the fans. My 8800GTS really does spin up when playing CiV though.
