    Features that I miss

I sorta miss being able to target tiles that way, but I certainly don't miss having the AI be able to do the same thing. Gets a little tiresome watching their hundreds of artillery and naval units strafing the countryside with annoying cannon fire while I'm actually going about the more...

I can't pillage my own roads?

I actually realized this last night as well, and was a little irritated. Here's my "one good reason" to do it: I had culturally engulfed another civ's city -- had a ring all the way around it -- but for some reason it wouldn't flip. It revolted for a while, but didn't flip. Since I had...

    Gold Trading Exploit

There was a "Stupid Civ Tricks" thread a while back that would have made a good home for this, but alas, it seems to be long gone. My apologies if others have already publicized this discovery: I was trying to get one AI opponent to declare war on another. First I asked them to just do it...

Poll: Is there a need for an "official" fix to the tech pace problem?

I don't know if it's the pace, or the extreme open-ness of the tech "tree" that we all knew was coming, but it really is a problem late in the game. Units are going obsolete before you can even build a dozen of them.

why can't you just choose two traits?

I do like the idea, but I worry that if it were built-in and so easily accessible, I'd probably always use it, never playing with the pre-ordained combinations, and losing out on some of the flavor and challenge as a result. As for the UUs, I like having them linked to particular civs, but...

Guess who's coming for dinner? - Un-announced leaders dropping by question

That would definitely be handy. I added enough RAM that it's not really a problem now, but for people with speed problems late in the game, the leaders popping up is one of the biggest slowdown problems. And while they generally make much better offers in this edition than in CivIII, I still...

The only problem I ever had with these games..

Just setting "always peace" would still make you compete for cultural, space race, and diplomatic victories. However, if you turned on "always peace" and turned off those victory types, you should get the kind of experience you're looking for. Might be fun.

    Thank you.

Yeah, complaints about how the game sucks from people who can't actually play it aside, I do have to say that my one and only complaint is sleep deprivation.

    Thank you.

I had to fix some bugs to play it, but with a 2 year old laptop that was never high end, that's pretty much standard for new games. The bugs were fixed relatively quickly, and now that I'm running it at high speed, I have to say: Perfect. Bugs are unavoidable this soon after release...

IMPORTANT: Support page & New Fix for Radeon Cards

I had some strange incompatibility problems, but the fix took care of them. I had only the recommended minimum of 256m of RAM when I purchased the game, and it was able to run and had no graphics problems, but was unbearably slow as the game progressed. So, I bought another 512, popped...
