Unsure if your Mac will run Civ5? Read this

It will run. And it is VERY playable. I play Civ5 on a Macbook Air i7 (2011) which has the same Intel chip. BUT (there's always a but) you will be playing with the graphics setting set to low. And I don't play on maps larger them small. I have tried medium, and the game slowed down toward the...

Unsure if your Mac will run Civ5? Read this

I have been running this game on the recent 13" Macbook Air (with an i7 chip) and it runs fine on small maps (which is what I prefer to play anyway). The only problem I'm having is all the leaders appear washed out - they are all white. Other then that, the game runs fine. Edit: The leaders...

    System requirements...

I'd be surprised if it is. Since most macs run 32bit mode by default (you can change that of course). iTunes, iWork are both 32bit. So is Warcraft. The good thing about Mac is that it doesn't really matter, since you can run either in either mode. I was just curious.

    System requirements...

10.6.5 (the latest) included some major updates (and fixes) to OpenGL. The patch notes are available at Apple if you want details. If you play Warcraft, you already know this. Since 10.6 has made that game playable now. Warcraft had a major update that caused havoc with Windows and Mac users...

    Advice Appreciated

You are going to have serious problems with your video card. I doubt it'll even run. Also 2 GB of RAM is minimum. So having more would probably be best. The RAM is easy, cause I bet your mac can use 3GB probably. Like I said your video is the weakest link. And since it's a notebook your only...

This is by far the most fun I've ever had playing Civ

It's warming up to me. I'll probably never fire up Civ 4 again. Though I still got issues with the UI and gameplay that annoy the hell out of me. And once this game gets more mods, and the toolkit (to make decent maps) it will be kick as*.

    I getting mighty tired...

of playing a game, only to find out there's 1 (ONE) source of iron on the whole continent. And I'm also getting tired of the way the game selects (focus) on the next unit. In a battle, I move a unit and the map swings across the world to the next unit (a ship set on explore runs into a...

No war weariness; is war too easy?

Yah this is not a builders game. War is too easy. And really, the only way to win at this point. You have to mass a huge empire (which means war) to compete. Else forget it. I really don't care about winning.. i consider the game a win if I make it to the end. If i wanted a wargame I wouldn't...

The worlds two largest EVER empires not in game??

"little englanders".. sure makes me think you aren't "anti-England". :) Give it a rest already. I doubt this game will ever include the Scots. So make a mod.

The worlds two largest EVER empires not in game??

To me, an American, England and Britain are the same. I know, I know there's a difference. But from my point of view, not much. And when I say England (or Britain) I'm not including Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa or India. I mean the British isles, excluding Ireland.
