I'm for naval bombardment. It IS NOT a fun to have a huge navy standing besides a raging groung battle. IT is just stupid!
Only good point to have a big navy behind ground troops is to attract an attention of enemy air force. :)
In Civ3 When you put your fighter into bombing run it had a chance to intercept the guarding fighter (depending on defence/attack ratio and HP amount). In Civ4 seems things work other way.
For intance, I had got a huge landing party near my city. First I had tryed to bomb them by fighters...
Ok. Suppose I have a modern age unit stack. Infatry, tanks, artillery and choopers. My stack is being attacked by enemy artillery unit. Waht will happen? Yes, that is right. Collateral damage will be appleid to whole stack including choppres. Artillery fighting gunships? Come on! Gimme a break...
heh, I made one 3 years ago. I just took away the rifle and replased it with the stuff that looks like mortar. In the begining that was OK, because of lack of good custom units, but things turned to be different now. :) This jerking infantry guy looks quite lame amogst those great units we have...
BTW, Kremlin means nothing more than a City Wall. Almost each big ancient russia city had kremlin. I suggest to use this wonder in order to place citywalls in each city on a continent.
