If you go warmonger, better kill all, then get delared of war from all, then kill all :D.
If you want to spare the lives of some beaten Civ, you have to maintain some unit to watch out when they gathered forces to war again with you. Surely this time you need some fortress.
Because most of you dont play at Diety, and not for a huge crowded map. If you play Diety level with 12 civs in huge map, you will understand that focus on science will lead to failure in Domination Victory.
Im playing some games with the settings below
-Huge, Highland, Diety, Marathon, Ancient Era, 12 Civs.
-No barbs, no ruins.
-Domination Victory.
-Completely kill.

Babylon: Ingenuity - 52 - Better Early Sciene is good, and overall the game they give you about ~8k science points for each Academy, but longer you play, tech boost is lesser.

There is always an "order build" to Order, it is Social Realism + Skycrapper => 5YP. And i think they are enough to win the game.
5YP are so good that it boost your production like mad (about 3-10 raw productions a city). Use Skycrapper for some basic growth building andthen your city auto going...
I should include a good war CiV here, its the Incan.
-Powerful UI give you food, but its is food exchange for production when Terrace farms are built on hills => strong production for every city.
-No Impr maintainance on hills = free gold from road + impr, its even better than amount of gold...
