    Dr kossin #23

Agreed. I've really been enjoying these, especially since you've moved to Imm/deity.

    Playing below my level?

Noble to Prince is not a big leap, because AIs still start with warriors just like you. If you're always winning on noble then you will do just fine on Prince.

Immortal Earth18 challenge: single city isolated start

It's definitely patched as kossin says, happened in 3.13. Weak.

    Vassal Venting....

If you suspect an AI will capitulate to another AI and you don't want them to, try bribing the stronger opponent to end the war. That will buy you a bit of time. I don't understand the vassalizing mechanics very well myself, but learning the rules of what causes a civ to vassalize and how likely...

Woods 3 healing + medic line healing

If you have 1 woods 3 unit and 1 supermedic GG unit (ie. combat 1 and up to medic 3), are the unit healing bonuses from these two units additive, or do you need to have all the promotions on the same unit for wounded units on the same tile to heal at the max rate? For example, in the Rome NC...

    NC XXXV: Julius Caesar

Lacunaa - Woods 3 healing works anywhere, not just on forest/jungle tiles. I think that's a good placement for Antium. That's where I placed it in my game. I wish I had more time, I want to continue this game.

    Raging barbs/Great Wall

My favourite part of doing this is when an AI civ gets killed, and then later in the game you get to take over a barbarian Mutal or what have you.

Golden Ages - When and why?

How much bang you get for a GA is mostly dependent on how big your empire is, because civics changes take longer when you're larger, because the more tiles you work the more bonus hammers/commerce you get, and because the more specialists you're running, the more bonus GPP you'll get. Size is a...

    NC XXXV: Julius Caesar

I will play this one when I get home from work. I would definitely think about taking a run at stonehenge by settling on the stone. 3 hammers for the capital + it saves you quarrying the stone, + you gain the 2nd fish. Unfortunately, you only have 1 guaranteed mine, but you have a lot of dark...

    Appreciation Thread

This place is great. I've been lurking here a long time. I rarely have the time to play a full game of civ but I love reading game writeups by the really good players around here.

    Any particle physicists?

I like that even though this is the civ4 S&T forum, he still got an answer about a sophisticated particle physics question within 6 minutes.
