I think only game pace affects it... not sure though...

You can always activate the "No Barbarians" option, which, of course, will disable unit promotions until you go to war... Personally, I like this option, because barbs are pain in the a**. And as I play with Mongolia, my Keshiks are promoted twice as fast. And I also unlock the social policy...

IMO the best civs for a cultural victory are definately Greece and Siam, because both UA's are a huge boost. As for France and Aztecs, I don't know if it's just me, but I don't think their UA's are that useful...

Yiu're right, but usually I just raze cities because first: They don't have useful resources (the ones that don't have any) or second: I just focused on cleaning that civ from the map and I'm close to finnish the game, so that's not worth it...

Is it worth to upgrade Keshiks to Cavalry right away? Is Keshiks' ranged strenght of 13 more useful than Cavalry's strenght of 25?

Yeah, I'm curious too... But in a way, that would not help if you're going for a domination victory, because basically you're conquering a city do sell to another one you will have to conquer anyway... That all depends on the amount of gold the AI gives you...

Is it worth conquering all the cities or just the ones with useful resources? If I don't finnish all the cities, are the possibilities of the opponent coming back and re-conquering the cities big?

I usually play with Mongolia or Japan.
