Yes - I am referring to that 'debate' over the UI - which is supposedly inferior on V as a matter of 'fact'.
When I presented facts, not opinion, that distinguished respondent dismissed them out of hand. Just one of them was the number of mouse clicks to queue production which he claims is...
As an aside I knew about the likelihood of a Steam seasonal sale but the info in the posts I linked above was so enticing I went out and bought it anyway - and I'm happy with what was in the box for reasons discussed by the posters above.
Now, I paid $24 - let's see how much that will cost me...
It's an interesting one - will they try and regain the folks who liked I, II, III or IV more as well as keep some of the newer players. Is that even possible?
Thanks all - seems about on par with previous versions though the lack of digital sales always makes comparisons difficult. I only asked as I was curious if the sales figures would give us an idea of what direction they might go next (after any further V DLC or xpacs).
Have to agree with you on that one - and requiring Steam is a negative. Round this time of year their servers get crazy busy which can affect getting into the game. I know you are supposed to be able to play offline but that is pretty spotty for me, works sometimes and not other times.
You mean the bit about 'some insight about what's good and what's not' and since I don't apparently have that my opinion doesn't count or the odd comment about the moon?
It's not a fact when you cherry pick the opinions of people you agree with and discount the opinions of those who don't -...
Just wondering if Firaxis have released any numbers on Civ V sales compared to IV to see if their bold gamble to attract new players to the franchise while annoying seemingly 90% of the Civ IV players worked out for them (and yes, I am one of the 10%).
Well - I have played since Civ 1 and disagree = but this is a rant thread so you are welcome to yours (even if it is bollocks - since you said 'everyone' - and I am part of 'everyone' and don't share your opinion).
My rant was a bit further up - related to slow computation and 'end turn'...
And thank goodness for that. I for one am happy that V is so different from its predecessors rather than being like the latest Call of Duty X clone with the same basic game and only a new(ish) coat of paint.
There is an excellent thread on these forums that goes into the content and how it works and what it adds to the game in great detail:
