    Crushed on Noble: everyone aggressive?

Find religion. The easiest way to curb aggression is to convert to the agressor's faith. I've had Alexander declare war on me, I'd be serious losing. When I convert to his religion, he then agrees to peace. Then we stayed at peace until free religion 2000 years later.

Warlord to easy, Noble to hard??

Barbarians a problem on Noble? In almost all my games, expansion is so fast for all players, that the Barbarians are wiped out before 1000BC. And that's on prince? IDK, maybe I should play an all-land map?? As far as our fearless warlord who's afraid of the nobles, fear not. The trick to the...

    Reason for declaring war

Early: 1. They've place a settler somewhere I was going to. 2. I've got an early production city. 3. Ghandi's got only one warrior guarding his capital????? Mid: 1. Set back a powerful rival. 2. Coal/Iron/Oil (if I Don't have it and he does) Late: 1. My bomber pilots are bored. 2. To set back...

Middle Ages: To Pillage or to Conquer?

In my current game (Prince), I just ended a medieval war. Alexander was conquering all my neighbors, quickly exceeding my size and research potential. In an attempt to thwart his other invasions, I rushed and captured one of his largest cities with a size-15 mace/catapult stack. Unfortunately...

    Software Piracy

Nor does the above post (or this post) add anything to the conversation, but flamebait.

    Software Piracy

Hmm , without jumping into the dying embers of a flame war.... Large-scale piracy is bad for everyone involved, except for the pirate. The problem I see with the current proprietary software market, however, is that products are faulty. I have yet to buy a Microsoft or EA product that did not...

    Help!!! This is very strange!

If the city doesn't make any food, that can happen.I had a nuclear meltdown, and my city dropped from 28 to 19 in one turn, b/c there was only 19 food harvested. Perhaps the bug made 1 food harvested? Either way, I'd say restart and see if it reoccurs.

You can airlift to *any* target city?

Yeah it makes sense. Heck, the US Army can air-drop a Bradley Fighting Vehical in the middle of the desert, so why not a city?

    Scoring and Mods?

After the results of my last game, I wonder how mods affect the scoring. I was playing on a standard sized map with 10 AI on Prince with the "Realism" mod. I won a crushing space race victory in 1850AD before anyone else had the Apollo program, with 29000 points. However, the game ranked me...

RE Getting 'into' character. Civ4 is the least RP friendly Civ.

I do agree about tone. The first time I played the game, I was quite displeased when Mao wasn't wearing a bone necklace. And where's my military advisor with his eyeballs popping out when I want to declare war? And my population heads? Anyone see my population heads? I have numbers living in my...

    Reguarding Nukes

Not to mention in 95% of games, the ai's in the UN votes to stop Nuclear production. In my games, I don't even bother with nukes anymore. Maybe someone will make a nuclear war mod or something....

Civilization IV - An Unexpected Game.

Ah, I see. You were expecting the game of all games, the single program that can merge every single known genre into one solid package. Unfortunately, no such creature exists. The developers of Civ II even considered micromanaged combat like in Rome: Total War....... but it ran to slow. Civ...
