You are probably getting free strategic resources from trade routes. In Rising Tide they added strategic-resource yields to international trade routes in addition to energy and science yields, since you can't trade resources through diplomacy now. It seems that resources aren't even traded away...
"Consider a simple physical problem: a spaceship traveling at near-lightspeed across an interstellar distance."
Heh, I guess if you're Daoming Sochua, it's not really a big problem...
Yes, there are so-called geostationary satellites that literally hover over the same spot, they can only be placed over equator though, since they're technically still moving around an orbit, it's just that their speed is synchronized with the speed of rotation of Earth itself. To achieve the...
Yeah, that's exactly what I propose. I assume it might be countered by severely limiting the options for anti-orbital strike, but that might be harder to balance than I'm imagining.
Well, I guess, considering that BE has no dedicated anti-air units which is the closest thing to mobile...
@KrikkitTwo
Yeah, that would be similar to how orbital bombardment and other orbital "operations" work in Pandora: First Contact, I guess, except for shooting them down, since technically there are no units to shoot down, only abstract operations.
Artillery, at least it's basic variants, have...
IIRC it has already been discussed somewhere on this forum that the way the orbital units work is a bit ridiculous.
The problems are to numerous to recount, and the fact that the satellites appear to be hovering over the same spot like air balloons affecting only a small round area is actually...
You have a point, this might be a problem. Another thing that bothers me is the fact that AI can raze stations with impunity and there is apparently no way to tell them to back off. The only way to peacefully protect a station is to surround it with units :rolleyes: Seriously, I would expect a...
Considering the earlier discussion of Kozlov's voice acting, I'm not even surprised.
Rejinaldo might not be of Brasilian origin at all though, considering it's a conglomerate of nations like almost every other faction.
Then, there's a catch-all explanation that it's future Brazil :dunno:
I think what would be extremely cool for the supremacy victory is that after you start sending troops through the portal you teleport to the Earth map and actually get to play out the "emancipation" with your opponents now being the countries that sent the expeditions (SF, PAC, PAU etc.) and...
Make it "Sun's gravity well" and your proposition makes sense. Yes I too thought about the possibility that the ship by the end of the journey might get much smaller. It's should work pretty much the same as a rocket with detachable stages, dropping off the fuel tanks as they get empty, so the...
I was convinced that the explorer doesn't disappear after it finishes an expedition just can't perform any more expeditions untill it returns to a city.
I think in the last livestream or somewhere else they also mentioned something along these lines.
This strategy has one pitfall though. By the time you decide to launch it, the piece of space that you were eyeing might already be occupied by a satellite of another faction. So it would be a good idea to saturate the intended space with satellites before hand if you're planning a war.
