I am not sure if it works in that direction. I do know that the only way to use an Excel file with macros in Open Office is a complete rewrite.
Xien: Excel spreadsheets like yours are just fine. It was Yohan's intention to use macros that push me to push Open Office.
I have no clue what grand strategy one should employ, but since I have never run a specialist economy (and, in fact, have no idea how to), I know that you are not forced to.
I would much prefer Open Office formats.
Calc and Excel use different languages for their macros. Excel macros will not work in Open Office Calc (although you can still open and view the spreadsheet) and vice versa. However, anyone can get Open Office for free.
Insofar as I understand the issue, the Pestilence event triggers once per player (and AI, I think). So in a multiplayer game, it is really deadly. This bug never came up in testing because Kael usually tests on a duel map with only himself and one AI.
I like to grab Amphibious for any of my units that do not benefit from terrain defense (like Rosier the Fallen in my current game). Park him across the river from a city and he gets a vestige of terrain defense.
For all the supposed difficulty in building great commanders, I have generated three or four in my last game and I most certainly did not try. I actually have no idea what buildings I built gave the points for them.
I am not so well versed in FFH lore but I suppose this is nice:
The Doviello converting to Ashen Vale, building Rosier the Fallen, and then having him single-handedly wipe out every other evil civ in the world (starting with the Sheaim) just to keep the AC down.
Darn, I did not save one of my two most recent games generated with the new script. I started as Doviello in one and had, literally, a starting area consisting solely of peaks and hills with some furs and deer. I actually made a good play out of that one, wiped out the Luchuirp, and then found...
I think there is something seriously wrong with this map.
By turn 15, three civs were wiped out by the barbarians. I was wiped out on turn 17 by an 11/9 centaur charger. Not a prayer of winning that battle.
That is how lead poisoning works. Real life lead weapons, such as lead shot, do not cause lead poisoning unless they stay lodged inside and break down.
