    Complete list of Steam Achievements

I do wonder what the hidden achievements are. Steam lists 103 locked achievements but at the top it says I have 0 of 120 unlocked. Though it could just not be the final version as I'm counting 18 civilizations but only 16 civ-specific achievements (Flying Fortress, Bollywood and so on).

I now proclaime Gilgamesh the new Montezuma!

Boudica has an itchy trigger finger but should be no problem with good relations. As for Tokugawa, is it just me or does the game contain even more "personal" quirks? He seems to have the japanese code of honor. If you want to end an even (or one of those 'sends 2 units in a boat half the...

    Make your own civics contest!

Here's my silly/serious idea: Tourism and Outdoor Hobbies None: no upkeep, default civic. Sightseeing: medium upkeep, +:gold: per World Wonder, +½:gold: per National Wonder, requires Currency. Interrailing: low upkeep, +2 relations with civilizations you have Open Borders with...

"We fear you might become too advanced"

And then there's also the "We'd like to win the game ourselves, thank you." reason for not trading Rocketry (at least, maybe other SS part techs too but the one with Apollo Program is probably the most critical one) if Space Race victory is on.

    Scoring 56,360 in 5 minutes

It's interesting to read about all these insane score tricks but I don't want to mess up my scoreboard with them. Furthest on "dice-loading" I've gone was to crank up the difficulty in Civ 3 a couple over what I usually play on, and then started on a high sea huge archipelago with all civs...

Which is the most useless/pointless wonder?

I would reply with a simple "no", but there's a lower limit to message length. :crazyeye:

    Civ IV Culture Calculator Spreadsheet

Cool little tool and would be nice to see it integrated. In the meantime, making a 1.3 (add marathon speed and any other 1.52 changes)?

The Beginners Crash Guide To Cultural Victory

Great suggestion about banking the :gp: artists, but I think early on I'd add at least one to each city as a superspecialist. They add some coin to your economy and a nice culture boost that lasts a long while. In one marathon game I noticed the SS's eventually disappearing from my cities, they...

Deity - one city challenge strategy

So the question is, how to find the key? I want to adopt my neighbors / PA target's religion SO BAD and all these crap religions from far away countries worm their way to my city. I'm also curious: has anyone ever seen 4 or more religions in one city? Feels like missionaries fail 100% if there's...

Deity - one city challenge strategy

"Athens has been captured by the Indian Empire!!!" .... There goes the capital of the only nation with positive relations to me.:crazyeye: Aztecs have a funny reason for not trading Rocketry. "We'd rather win the game, thank you." I have to agree on the speed. The faster the game, the...

Deity - one city challenge strategy

Well thanks. :) On the topic itself, I tried running an OCC a bit differently. Difficulty at my "skill level" (noble) and a tiny map with 18 civs. Seems to be going smoothly but I fear I have blundered. I decided to befriend Alexander, who seems to be a pariah, I keep getting constant...

Deity - one city challenge strategy

Hmm I don't know where I've picked up the word but it's certainly not a bushism. I googled and found a comprehensive article/column about it: http://www.worldwidewords.org/qa/qa-irr1.htm At least I don't misunderestimate my opponents in Civ 4. :crazyeye:

Deity - one city challenge strategy

I usually play on noble/prince, but the OP inspired me to jump in the deep end for a learning experience. After some tries to get a good city spot, I opted to download. The position is incredible with 6 seafood, marble (though you can't quarry it for a long while) and iron right under the spot...
