It's never crossed my mind that the AI's could "see" where the resources are. Based on my experience the AI's settles the most idiotic places they can find. :lol:
Good games never dies. Chess has been played for many hundred of years now and it is still a very popular game. Civ4 is just a more complicated version of chess, so let's see for how long it will stick around.
Blocking in an opponent so he only can get 2-3 cities and then slowly squeezing him to death is imo a brutal way to treat your neighbour, but so much fun. :mischief:
If you have capped 2 or 3 AI's you shouldn't have any problems winning a monarch game (conquest/domination) even if the other AI's have superior units. Inferior units in overwhelming numbers outperforms normal AI stacks with superior units. Just keep spamming units, use siege to soften up the...
I always go for conquest/domination because that's the most interesting victory condition. IRL peace rules, but in games it sucks. Won an emperor game yesterday where I killed off my nearest neighbour and made all other civs my vassals. Enjoyded every moment of the game. :D
I've had emperor games where I've successfully managed to rush 2 civilizations with War-Chariots. It can be done, but the situation has to be ideal. Taking out 1 civilization with regular chariots shouldn't be too much of a problem. Speed is the key. Deity and Immortal is of course another...
