I have no technical ability when it come to moding and havn't taken the time to learn.
If there is a technical limit on the number it would be a case of renaming and modifying the ones you are allowed.
There a a host of potential real companies out there that have had world wide inpact...
Has anyone done anything interesting in regard to modifying corporations to make them a bit more interesting in the game.
Eg
Corporations with their own special buildings (sushi bars)
Corporations that require or are tied to a specific religion (Holy Water Inc)
Civ specific corporations...
I have to agree with most of what been said. Unlike Warlords BTS has changed the game significantly if it had not done so it would not have been worth buying. It adds new stuff to the game, giving you mpore option on how you can play.
Sid's suchi does mean that you have more incentive to protect your marine resouces which are generally more vulnerable than land based ones.
One aspect of corps that I have not seen mentioned is the effect of spreading them on foriegn trade. The AI will I assume be less willing to trade...
I also usually try to minimise military only stationing a pwerfull garison where there is a percieved threat. With a rapid deployment force located centrally for fire fighting. This often fails when you get an unexpected attack and panic defence is called for, the calvalry does not always...
I have to agree it looks like an exploit.
Canals would be a good idea but they would need to be more expensive to build than a fort. Think how much the Panama canal costs to build and then there is maintainance. Cost would need to be dependent on terain and perhap separate types for early...
