It changes/fixes a bunch of stuff (read the changelog here), but it will break your saves so you'd have to make a new game. You'll probably want to wait after you're done with this one.

Nah they were certainly infantry-only, but Persian cavalry also had a very fearsome reputation at the time. I guess the Civ4 immortals were an attempt to compromise the two since a civ could only have one UU, and the Greeks already had a spearman UU.
"Good" and "Evil" are ideologies that demand you pick a side. Even with crazy cultists running around, that doesn't go well with the "Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum" program.
Wouldn't that fit the Persians as well? They were generally respectful of local culture as long as tribute was paid, no? And I read somewhere that the troops used to invade Greece were levied from all over the empire.
Maybe balance it out with increased odds that cities that aren't purely...
I've got the same problem using 0.41a. I raze the city and the drown appears but Rosier doesn't get waterwalking and the game crashes on the next turn.
I played as Babylon in my last game, Christianity was founded in Jerusalem before it flipped to me. When it did I disbanded the city. Islam is the main religion in Europe now.
