I'm not able to start game without the map graphics loading bad. I had only two starts out of about a dozen that loaded correct and cannot figure out the issue. I tried various mapscripts, all the graphic options, and even different civs. I can't figure out the issue. Has anyone else seen this...

Thank you very much SoG. It installed without errors this time. The first couple starts i had some strange graphical map blackouts but tinkering with my graphics settings that seems to have disappeared. I appreciate the help!

I just checked and i am using WinRar to unpack. I will try something else. I doubt the file you uploaded is bad. I think The problem is because I have the game thru Steam and it puts Civ in a string of folders within folders. My guess is that the longer unit names in your mod are just too many...

Thanks for the thorough explanation Magister. I like it, neat dynamic and it gives a great game reason to go after the infernals. It just took me by surprise and yeah, twice in a row before i even hit Iron Working felt a bit extreme. I'll adapt my playstyle.
