This is great! I love the location-appropriate minor factions too, that's very nice.
To me, this does suggest that the "large" list should in fact be the max expansion list, so that the old empire is able to keep all historically owned territories that are not taken over by newer empires.

Thanks!
I am considering a more comprehensive tech tree rework. But I don't plan to add new technologies or do extensive rebalancing of units etc. So whether it will get there depends on how far I'll get with just more reshuffling like in this mod.
Good point about the forge - I'll keep that...
This very simple mod achieves a number of things:
- Knights are likely to be discovered before Pikemen - which makes sense because Pikemen are a counter against Knights.
- Aztecs can access their Jaguar Warriors without having to invent Crossbows (as per history).
- Crossbows are now available...
I was testing different start positions - seems to go well, but I haven't played beyond the Neolithic yet.
I like the Zhou changes a lot!
For the Harappans: The Harappa site is east of the Indus. It's technically not on the banks of the Indus, but it is on the banks of a tributary of the...
This very simple mod makes Transport Galleys available in the Ancient Era with the Fishing technology.
To keep the Classic Era tech Trade Expeditions useful, it now provides +1 City Cap (which was removed from Philosophy).
Finally, the Phoenicians can actually found Carthage without having to...
I agree with the idea, but it's not that simple to come up with a "intermediate expansion" list that isn't too arbitrary. I prefer if the criteria for including territories are based on some underlying principle.
With that said, let's just try this small list first, next to the existing larger...
I'd say sage is the odd one out. While it had historical significance in classical and medieval Europe, I don't know anything about sage as a luxurious trade good. Incense was also used in India (by the Indus Valley Civ already), Tibet, China. Most of it involves agarwood or sandalwood, which...
Sorry if this was discussed before, but why not add some Tea and Gemstone instead? Map full?
Is Ovid ok too?
"...durior [...] ferro quod noricus excoquit ignis..." which roughly translates to "...harder than iron which Noric fire tempers (wikipedia)
and:
"it was widely used for the weapons...
Good to know. I was more thinking about mechanics like: Greece conquers the Persian Empire (Alexander the Great), but then their empire falls apart into several successor states (Diadochi).
I agree. TBH, having the Goths in Sweden is already a bit of a stretch. The evidence for their origin...
Gedemon, others too, I'd like yo hear your opinion on some things.
The concept for the territory list is basically done. But some of the choices for the territory list go beyond simply pinpointing historical boundaries, so it really depends on how you want to handle those instances in the...
Thanks! I had only considered the history of Austria-Hungary proper, but I suppose it's better to include the Austrian Empire that preceded it. In that case, maybe Northern Italy should be included as well.
