    New Resources?

Cultural "luxuries" like paintings, hit singles and blockbuster movies. Those would be provided by certain wonders, like the Louvre, the Broadway and Hollywood.

A Simple Change which could make CiV more Challenging -without more AI Bonuses

Meh. The key to improving the AI is to fix their overall behaviour and not to penalize the player even more. If AI players run out of happiness, their priorities should sway towards momenterily stopping expansion/city growth, constructing happiness buildings/wonders and trading luxuries...

    Defensive Pacts? Bug?

Don't make defensive pacts. It's a useless feature that's implemented in a half-assed way. All it does is drag you into wars that you have no business in, and the AI will treat you like you started the whole mess.

    Funny Washington Diplomacy

Oh yeah, real life politics make for a freaking great example when the thread started with a screenshot of Washington preferring Order (i.e.: Communism) over Freedom. Read what I wrote in my previous post. AI leaders are just player and social policies is just a fancy name for bonus...

    Funny Washington Diplomacy

The AI in Civ 5 isn't designed to roleplay as real historic leaders. Otherwise, do you really think Washington would choose Order rather than Freedom?. Therefore, it's silly when decisions that don't affect the AI in the slightest have an effect on diplomacy. That's fake depth.

    Funny Washington Diplomacy

What's the point of those diplo modifiers anyway? I mean, why should the AI care about which social policies you chose?

    Change to Patronage Finisher?

IMO, it would be better if the patronage finisher only affected city states you are friends/allies with, and instead of increasing influence decay for enemies, it should simply reduce the rate at which they can can gain influence.

    Awkward backstabbing?

Of course the AI doesn't care about something they don't know. But if they DO know that they are up against the combined forces of 2 nations, they'd be way more reluctant to declare war than if they were thinking that they are only dealing with 1 nation. In a way, (perceived) military...

    Awkward backstabbing?

Because the whole point of a defensive pact is that the world KNOWS that 2 nations will defend each other, so that no one will be foolish enough to declare war on them unless the aggressor has a crushing military superiority. The only reason to keep a military alliance a secret is for the...

    Awkward backstabbing?

If that's true, it's beyond idiotic.

    Why all the hate?

I can imagine it being overpowered when policy saving is permitted, but otherwise, I don't see the problem ...? Specifically, taking advantage of that UA would mean to skip some other early policies, most of which offer substantial bonuses to growth and happiness. There would be quite a bit of...

    Why all the hate?

I just wish America had a UA that feels unique and powerful instead of totally passive and questionable. If I were to re-design them, I'd probably give them the ability to access social policies 1 era earlier than normal. I think it would fit them well.

    Someone Fire this Guy

Since the military advisor apparently estimates military might the same way as your opponents do, its not difficult to see why the strategic AI in this game is still TERRIBLE. They declare war on you based on their numerical advantage, you proceed to kick their asses and the AI only starts...

How do you counter diplomatic marriage?

You don't counter diplomatic marriage. You can only take preventative measures, like making Austria spend their money on resource trade with you, or wiping them from the map as quickly as possible. Kinda messed up if you ask me. IMO a better way to implement the ability would be like this...

    Battleships come too late?

I agree, though I'd prefer to see a pre-dreadnought (could be called "cruiser" or simply "capital ship"), since dreadnoughts were basically the first battleships. Even though pre-dreadnoughts became obsolete with the introduction of the dreadnought, they still made up a huge part of pretty much...
