For what it's worth, I would expect Hungary and Bulgaria to both ally with Russia due to their hunger for Romanian land. This could occur at the time of the Bessarabian crisis in this scenario. So, Russia gets Bessarabia and southern Bukovina, Hungary gets Northern Transylvania, and Bulgaria...
I thought about a realistic way to create a World War II without either Nazis or Communists and I think that I might have come up with a magic formula for this. Anyway, how does this look/sound? :
Anton Denikin wins the Battle of Oryol in late 1919 and subsequently manages to conquer Moscow...
What exactly would it take for a non-Communist Russia to be viewed as a big bad evil country in the Anglosphere in an alternate Great War/World War (similar to how Germany, Italy, and Japan were viewed in the Anglosphere during WWII in real life)?
Just how much better shape would the Russian economy be in during WWI if the Straits remain open to Russian and Allied shipping and trade? I was wondering if this specific effect might be enough to prevent one or both Russian Revolutions.
Also, if one or both Russian Revolutions are indeed...
BTW, this is sort of a random question, but what effects do you think that a White victory in the Russian Civil War would have had on the partition of India a couple of decades later? Russia and South Asia are not directly related, but a White-led Russia could have significant effects in regards...
Agreed that appealing to the peasants would be a smart move for the Russian Whites if they can actually figure this out.
Also, I wonder just how many internal migrations, whether voluntary or not, a White-led Russia is going to have.
Russia was not clearly losing WWI in 1915 or 1916, so any Russian government that attempted to make peace with Imperial Germany back then might be denounced as traitorous, including by the Bolsheviks themselves, who'd claim that they do want peace, but only with the German proletariat as opposed...
Agreed. It's worth keeping in mind that all Central European, Southern European, and Eastern European countries other than Czechoslovakia became authoritarian and/or totalitarian dictatorships by 1938 in real life.
Though if there's no Holocaust, then this would still be preferable to our TL for the Jews in that part of the world. But of course they'd have absolutely no way of knowing that, so ...
Also, this could create a lot of pressure to have Britain open up Palestine and/or some other colony/colonies...
What would have been the effects had the Ottoman Empire remained neutral in World War I? Would this have allowed Russia to avoid one or both of the revolutions that it had in 1917 in real life? Also, if so, could this result in an alternate World War II in the 1930s or 1940s which is sparked by...
Also, for the record, if you want a better analogy to the extent of German colonization in both Latvia and Estonia in the event of a German victory in World War I, you can go take a look at the African-American Great Migration in the U.S. as well as at the pattern of Russian settlement(s) in the...
In order to stir up tensions between Poles and Latvians/Lithuanians as well as between German-puppet Poland and Russia.
Couldn't a larger and more ethnically diverse Poland also be relatively weak and frail and thus easy for Germany to control, though?
For one, for public relations...
Also, for the record, Imperial Germany's post-World War I policy towards its puppet Poland in this TL appears to be very similar to Joseph Stalin's post-World War II policy towards his puppet Poland in our TL (without the Communism, of course).
