    [R&F] I can't beat Human Mongolia

Mongolia is the most overpowered civ. They are the one civ I can win with pretty consistently on Diety. I can imagine that a good human player with a good starting position is going to be able to build an army that will not be stoppable if he uses it right.

    [R&F] Getting Rolled on Deity

Diety is harder now since the patch, but still not as hard for me as diety on Civ 5. Diety starts now pretty much have to be AH-Archery, 4 slinger to archers as fast as you can, and either play defense or try to take a nearby city or two. Settling on a luxury might save you from an early rush...

[R&F] Different build and research order from Vanilla?

This was mentioned elsewhere, but having tried it, its just a ridiculously effective start as Korea because of their unique, half-price district: Place capital. Research AH/Archery in case there's an aggressive civ nearby. Build scout and then 3-4 Slingers while city pop is growing. Upgrade...

    Religious victory

Become Suzerain of Yerevan. Spam apostles. Convert the whole world in a few turns.

Let's talk about the expansion phase

The problem with war-mongering is that it's too easy. Too easy early because rushing archery and archers will allow you to conquer your neighbors with ease even up to turn 100 on Diety. 6 archers and 1 melee unit can knock over a walled city). Even easier in the mid-game by rushing Knights or...

    Let's talk about opening moves

On Diety: slinger, slinger, slinger, archer, archer, archer. First two techs are AH and archery, no matter what. There is no substitute for conquering your neighbors ASAP at the highest levels. 5 archers and a warrior can knock over even a walled city in the first 100-120 turns. If you...

    How to play religious?

Russia with Dance of the Aurora can be very powerful for this strategy if you get the right starting spot, because you can plop down a bunch of Lavras that are +6 or +7 faith. Then you're off the the races. When I did this tho, I found once I got theocracy that I was making so much faith per...

What can be done about AI CC that can one shot kill an Archer?

If that city can one shot archers, then it will chew up a bunch of your catapults as well. Do as mentioned above and take the small cities and pillage around the core. Forget catapults. Build a couple seige towers and rush to Stirrups and get some Knights. Seige towers mean you don't need...

Factories/Stadiums (etc) yields no longer stack across multiple cities - New Strategies?

I think the patch suggests that the best strategy now may be a combination of tall and wide, because the best way to make up for the lost cogs is going to be internal trade routes. So I'm envisioning building maybe 3 core cities that will be big and tall. Then lots of satellites around them...

Are Corps and Armies even worth it?

At least on Diety, the AI is pretty smart about making armies. Last game as Germany I got to tanks and rolled several civs w these. Made armies in order to relieve congestion. 3 tank armies plus a siege tower is sick. But last victim standing was Kongo, and he burped out some mech infantry...

What is your best game so far?

First Diety win, first Diety game. Germany, regular speed, regular size inland sea. Spawned in between Sumeria and Scythia. Rushed to archers, built 4, and took out Sumeria and a city state. Built total of 8 cities in a reasonable grid while defending against a DOW from Scythia. Ran to...

    Is this game too easy?

Playing Civ 5 Gods and Kings I won a grand total of one game on Diety on a regular sized map or larger, and it was after multiple tries on a particular setup (Babylon, marathon, large map archipelago, beat everyone to frigates/privateers, domination). Playing Civ 6 I won at diety my very first...

1001 Quick Tips and things you learned

Siege towers are the bomb. They totally obviate walls and never become obsolete. When building an army for conquest/domination, don't waste the hammers or beakers on artillery, etc. Just build Knights, Cavalry, or tanks and take a couple siege towers with you. Any city will fall in no time.

    Is this game too easy?

Ya gotta go wide. If there's anyone near you at the start of the game, you should go kill them. AH, Archery. Slingerx3, Archer, 2nd warrior. Upgrade the slingers. Go kill something. This will make you some room to settle 6-7 cities. Get factories as fast as you reasonably can, and space...

    Optimizing Hansa Placement

Good point re. Factories reaching more cities. The only issue to me is that with a ring that close, you really are cramped in terms of where exactly to put your districts. I personally don't want to be putting districts down on top of luxury resources, etc.
