I don't believe for moment that anyone who was a serious player of Civ 4 could like Civ 5.
Also lets not forget the fact that no demo was released until release day. No prizes for guessing why that decision was made...
Anything with Jon Shafers name on it is poison for me. I think the way he ruined the Civ franchise will haunt his career forever. He would be better getting into another area of programming.
No it's not worth it. It will never be the great game Civ 5 was. The developers knew this when they suddenly decided not to release a demo version before final release as they knew no one would buy it if they knew the truth. That's what you get by trying to save money and letting a kid develop...
Come on, Civ V is a failure in the market and the community because it is a simplified, dumbed down game. It is also full of flawed concepts that just don't work. Further, the developers mislead the community by not coming clean about the game before it was released. That's why few play it...
Sorry, but it's still crap. It has a minicule following compared to the 10 year old Civ 4. Watch if they come out with Civ 6..."we have listened to those who hated the dumbing down of Civ 5 and have moved back to what Civ is all about ......."
I've had 2 games with steam's spyware and I will never buy another again. It is a pain in the ass to load games, takes time and resources and doesn't work some of the time. Never again.
