How about this map? It might look easy, but after multiple tries I can't seem to win it, for some reasons :mischief::mischief::mischief:
Guess you need some "creative thinking" or at least a good deal of stubborness
PS: settings is pangea small deity
1 -> the game replayability is all about playing the map. Wonderbread/STRIKE economy are only extreme cases reserved to specific settings and goal. The challenge in a normal game is to consider all the options you have and make the best out of it. This is why people who like Civ 4 can play the...
First of all thanks a lot for taking the time to look at my saves! As you might have guessed I don't have much experience post-renaissance, but I usually get away with sloppy tank rush on Immortal.
Some explanations on my train of thoughts when I played / comments:
I might be way too careful...
Hello all,
In my last game (deity pangea, Egypt Ramesses II) I got off a good start and managed a 720 AD Cuirassier rush. By 1260 AD (turn 186) I had conquered 2 civs and got 19 cities.
After this I developed my empire. I could get to tank on turn 250 (1700 AD) but by the time my attack was...
Oh thanks it's clear now :low: I was sure I was missing something obvious...
And yeah the RNG decided to screw me royally and gave me 3 GA in a row from a city with 4GS+NE... In the end I used them to 3x bulb Communism.
Hello all,
I'm not sure if I'm missing something or if I'm having a bug - I can't seem to trigger a golden age with my GP. I got a first golden age from a GA, then a 2nd from Taj Mahal. Now I can't seem to trigger a golden age with my bunch of useless GA (in fact I got waaaaay more GA than...
Wow that's quite nice, I didn't think of whipping warriors into granary... In fact I don'T whip warriors into anything  Yeah those kind of island cities I often build quite late, so at this point happiness is not a problem for small cities.
Anyway it doesn't seem to make a big difference...
Hello all,
In those 1 tile - 1 seafood island and similar, is it generally better to build a granary first or a lighthouse (assuming the workboat is ready on settle)?
Thanks
Thanks for the play through Sampsa! As espected for an experienced Deity player you're doing pretty well
It's clear that I didn't grow my cities enough (as you mentioned in another thread, it's quite important). Also I didn't know that green Sugar provided 3F when settled on...
I found...
Chronicles of the late-ass Cuirassier rush...
Well it was a fun game. Some comments:
- Even with tons and tons of money, a decent capitol is required for a decent landing date... Could definitively have done better on this.
- Workshop pretty much useless so early in the game, now I get why...
That's precisely my point, that after doing the math I believe that when going for a Cuir rush it is in fact still not worth it to build an Academy as anyway even with a very strong Bureau capitol, you'll be just breaking even by the time you get the needed techs.
Some other comments:
-...
Oh boy I thought I was missing something, but it turns out most people aren't so hot about Academy... I started building them because I thought they were the secret to early teching, then at some point I made my homeworks and saw how awesome the GS bulbs are.
Thanks everyone for the helpful...
So in my current game I decided not to build an Academy, using my GS to bulb and bulb again, and then bulb some more on my way to cuirassier. I had a "feeling" that the Academy wouldn't be worth it, and now that my turnset for today is done, I thought I'd do the math.
Unless I'm mistaken, the...
