I'm barely able to play prince, but I might as well challenge myself here. I figure the challenge will help me improve my civ skills.

This is pretty much straight up play to win. Other people might want competition, but in an enjoyable way, involving buildup to long wars, diplomacy, etc. Basically a normal style Civ game with other players involved to make it interesting.

Looks like a great start. I've never tried Mehmed before, but I like the sound of his UU. I'm gonna take a risk, and try Prince. Especially considering the start.
I think it's a pretty tough game for starting out on Prince. You have Rome in the south with a good amount of land, you have Hatty who usually becomes a vassal, and you're Arabia. I've been honing my skills on Prince waiting for the next game so hopefully I'll be better. I haven't been playing...
You should post a save of one of your games around midpoint so people can check it out, see how well you are doing, and give you more tips if there are any other mistakes you are making.
I've been doing that in a current game someone posted on prince, and it's been really helpful. I already have a decent tech lead, and a 5 cities (about to make more next time I play) at 500 bc with a stable economy.
I'm moving up from Noble to Prince as well, so my advice might not be the best, but I'll try to contribute, and shadow the game. From just looking at the start, my advice would be to chop out 1-3 settlers first (Leave trees for any wonders you want to build of course), than build some military...
