I am not sure if you guys have noticed, but now building on the coast is not necessary in order to have a harbour / water buildings. This will help my OCD a lot where I wouldnt build a city on an obvious good tile cause it is one tile away from the coast

I don't think there is a complete manual. The most complete you get is the in-game Civilopedia, but as much as I like CiV I have to admit, that its Civilopedia is way weaker than in previous games.

Ye, contact is really too fast, I play with it turned off, cause the AI on Soyuz can get it around turn 300 (epic speed) which is ridiculous. But then again in my last game one of em built the exodus gate on turn 330 (also epic speed). Thank God he didnt have anything resembling space to plonk...

Seriously, I dont even see any reason to have them. As someone said previously, except for the culture one they are all utterly useless, and are just an annoyance

Yeah, why did they think that demographics and victory progress screens are obsolete?

Was it contact victory aswell for you? Cause if the AI can win (even on Vostok) this quickly with it then it might be too easy

Thats what I did, but nothing is likely. Cant be any of the affinity victories, as no one has 13 of anything, cant be domination, so I guess it could be contact. I have no idea how that works, but I can sure as hell tell you that there was no forewarning. edit: also what pisses me off the most...
