I come back to these forums every few months to see whether the DLLs have been released. Almost a year after that post and still no results. My faith in Firaxis Games is gone and I can't buy the God&King expansions until...
There's also the 2GPU-on-same-card version: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130626&nm_mc=OTC-Froogle&cm_mmc=OTC-Froogle-_-Video+Cards-_-EVGA-_-14130626
I didn't have problems taking a cities with 3 longswordsman, 1 trebuchet. I tried backdooring the Roman capital, but he picked a location where the city was surrounded by plains; it made it nearly suicidal for melee and the city kept repairing before my trebuchet could do any damage. So instead...
New DLCs, no patch fixing game ruining/ending bugs. Good to see where their priorities lie.
Lesson learned from Civ V: never preorder any game even if it seems like a sure thing.
I've put more hours into 2k's MLB 2k10 ($2.00 steam sale, first MLB game I've played since 1997) than Civ 5. Still waiting on patches so I can actually finish some large/huge games.
1. Gameplay: 80 The game mechanics themselves are decent. I'm not a big fan of global happiness. The game seems to snowball too easy as well (when you defeat the first 2 enemy civs in domination, the game is pretty much easy after that, at least for me).
2. Artificial intelligence: 50 The AI...
Whenever my physical memory usage is around 3.8-4.0 GB, the game becomes very unstable and will usually crash within a few turns. I haven't been able to beat any map above standard and my system is above the recommendations: Core i7 920, GTX 260, 6 GB RAM.
Its funny how my most anticipated game...
Here's a screenshot of his Washington vs Siamese game:
I'm not going to play it out (its on epic, kind of slow), looks like a hard fight but I think its winnable.
Don't fortify borders while on plains. The -33% plains penalty kind of negates the fortify, and since he has superior troops...
Can you describe how you lose?
Does one AI get super big and just tech up?
I dislike the Earth map because whoever's in the Americas can just "rice up". They can be 250-500 years worth of technology ahead of Asia/Africa/Europe.
Edit: nvm, just read the rest of the thread.
I like to keep a...
Le sigh. The patch allows me to play further into the game, but when I hit ~3.8-4.0 GB of memory usage, the game is incredibly unstable and I'm having repeated game crashes. I guess I'll never get the HUGE game achievement. I'm getting up to 4GB memory usage with just normal vanilla (modless)...
I'm around turn 400 with 75% of the huge earth map revealed and I'm not getting those insane freezes whenever you switch from military to civilian units.
I can't really say anything about the time in between turns. Its never really been an issue for me; it might be a bit quicker.
I'm...
Military AI seems slightly better. I used to be able to bait the enemy city's garrison to leave the city by just going 1 tile out of their range. They stay inside the city now. AI ranged units still do stupid positioning. Germany had 2 frigates blockading me when I could only build triremes. Not...
