    Music in Civ V

Really? In the modern age? No. Glass, Pärt, and Cage are all they need.

    New civ needs help....

In Civ4, it's actually siege that wins, not tech or numbers. :P Sue for peace, then use the breather to build a massive army. Declarations of war are in great part based on your power level, so if you have enough soldiers, they won't want to attack you.

Are there any strategy guides on here that deal with the National Park? It's been bothering me for a while that I don't really know what to do with it.

Crazy idea: mounted + Morale siege...?!

It only hit me like yesterday, and I'm not nearly good enough at leveraging Imperialistic to generate dozens of GGs. But could it work? Could you actually create a good number of Morale-promoted siege, and promote them as to have decent odds of survival (decent enough to justify using them...

    In a perfect world...

DEFINITELY changes for Industrious leaders. I'm 150% more likely to pursue a wonder if I'm Industrious, but I still don't pursue all of them. (Half-decent Monarch player, btw.) Typically, given appropriate resources, I go for: Great Library Parthenon Pyramids University of Sankore (though...

Re game features: BtS includes everything from Vanilla and Warlords save a scenario or two, so you should play that for the most "complete" game. In that sense, you don't need to patch Vanilla or Warlords, since you're not playing either of them. Can't help you on the tutorial question, but the...

    Moder's Discussion Forum

Trying to rework another weak and strange trait: Imperialistic. I think the settler bonus is inappropriate - settling of many cities in faraway places is colonialist, not imperialist, and if anything, the Expansive trait should get that. I want to give Imperialistic some bonus(es) that...

    Quick Answers / 'Newbie' Questions

Welcome to CivFanatics! 1) This is an extraordinarily ******ed feature of the game UI. The yield bonus listed here is added to the tile the resource is on, not the city. To further frustrate the player, this bonus yield is already shown on the tile itself (for instance, a plains hill with...

What's the best promotion for siege weapons?

I go with CR1 on all my siege. If I get an extra promo from GGs or whatever, I make it Bombard. Siege just doesn't level up in BtS the way it used to in Vanilla. Giving them all CR and Bombard means they're all very capable at assaulting cities. If I have enough time to build up a huge army...

    Bureaucracy questions

I recently came to the realisation that I've never really learnt to truly leverage Bureaucracy. So teach me, O wise ones! 1) What does a good bureau capital look like (in terms of improvements and buildings, particularly national wonders) under State Property? 2) What does a good bureau...

    How important are rivers?

Hmm. I would say my top three factors in city placement in order of importance are 1) food, 2) river, 3) grassland and hills. So I always make sure I can work the food, but I'd rather lose one or two good tiles if it means I get to put my city riverside. And I'm well familiar with...
