    Aqueduct, Baray or Hammam?

Extra weight beyond that point is increasingly questionable, though. Size 10 is getting big. Hammams really help cities get from size 6-7 to 8-9 or so, which is a sweet spot.

    Aqueduct, Baray or Hammam?

Well, I use copious caffeine instead of pot, so my opinion carries quite a bit more authority. You have to be whipping out those barays after mathematics, and just before construction. Presumably, you whipped out axes earlier. Really, I don't see it. If you want a whipped up ancient...

    Aqueduct, Baray or Hammam?

100 hammers just for the 1 food is dubious, though. Maybe for very hilly maps, lots of plains, etc. But, it won't make an average city into a good whipping city (in any amount of practical time), and a good whipping city has other priorities at that point. Try making more courthouses instead. ;)

    Aqueduct, Baray or Hammam?

Cities that need the health aqueducts provide are terrible for whipping, and small cities that whip well take too long to repay the 100 hammer investment. In low luxury games, the hammam is a very serious economic building. The baray is always a minor, consistent boost, but it isn't a game changer.

    Aqueduct, Baray or Hammam?

Math bulb openings with Suleiman also throw some weight behind the hammam, especially if you have stone. The Hanging Gardens = engineer GPPs, whips, and health.

    All civs being equal

If you don't accept capitulation, someone else will. This has always been stupid, because capitulation is almost always better than a complete kill, but that's game balance for you.

    Will there always be lag?

Does this somewhat bypass the 4 Gb limit or something? I've never done a ramdisk before.

    Gallic Warrior, Jaguar or Praetorian?

Between well placed and timed rushing, and terrain, I don't think I've ever had a vulture stack get badly axed. The initial attack frequently yields a couple shock vultures anyway. There is a very small window where the AI has sufficient defense, and you don't have HBR or crossbows yet, where...

    Gallic Warrior, Jaguar or Praetorian?

I think you underestimate the horse archer a bit there.

    Gallic Warrior, Jaguar or Praetorian?

I'd put it above those chariots. Spearmen stop them cold. An injured musketman doesn't stop a vulture. It's a very good stack unit for a very long time, cheap, early, and good against catapults. The vulture's long life and consistent flexibility make it better than situational units. Plus...

    Food-hammer-commerce conversion

I've never understood farms then cottages, even as an expansive guy. It just seems like FAR too many worker turns used. I wonder how worker turns ---> food/commerce/hammers works out, also taking into account time value? :mischief:

    Will there always be lag?

Someone, out there, has been given a mission. I do understand the ego element. But, not everyone has as much of a perfectionist drive.

    Will there always be lag?

I appreciate the improvements, actually. But, I want multiplayer with friends who prefer vanilla, warts and all. Just the speed (and perhaps BUG) would be great. Their computers would appreciate the speed even more than mine. ;)

    Food-hammer-commerce conversion

Of course not. :D Excessive food can fuel research via GPs and bulbing. Or hammers, by whipping. Excessive hammers can build wealth, and windmills give food. Excessive commerce opens up better techs to eventually improve the other areas, at the expense of time. Food is valued the most for...
