    [NFP] Byzantium First Look

Only tried Byzantium now, steamrolled everyone easily on Immortal lakes map with Crusade belief, felt completely OP - then lategame I discovered that they don't only get a free heavy cavalry unit with just the Hippodrome, but with every building there too after I got 100% construction in...

The game is too fast and too easy

Don't recognize the easiness at all. I'm currently playing a game with Mali with Scotland, Korea and Sumeria on deity and I definitely have to give it my all. Trying to get past level 4 gdrs currently to try and wipe out 800 science a turn Gilgamesh before his spaceship finishes its journey...

Work Ethic Needs to Be Changed to Be Like Choral Music

I don't know about MP, but i think it's fine. Just a few cities will get the crazy holy sites unless you tweak the map settings, I actually find not being able to take choral music massively sets back your culture game and it's way more consistent than work ethic. And you still have to get the...

So what do you feel is still broken?

Definitely think that the penalty shouldn't apply when the capital city flips to you due to loyalty pressure.

    “Nobody finishes games of Civ!"

Playing on Deity is still challenging enough for me that games will reach the mid/endgame. I played Russia, and Scotland to the south had 210 science while I still had 45 (I was going for wide, and had tons of faith but extremely low pop and couldn't build many districts). Even with me getting...

June 2020 Update - Patch Notes Discussion

Brazil is very powerful with sacred path and work ethic but with no early faith boost or cheap holy site getting both sacred path and work ethic is already a challenge, and then it takes some good city planning to take advantage. It's not nearly as reliable as Russia both in getting the right...

What's your least favorite Civ and why?

Khmer, the martyr mechanic is one of the least fun mechanics in the game to me. Just sending units off looking for an enemy apostle to kill them feels really dumb. Their other bonuses are very bland too.

[NFP] What's Your Favorite Civ and Why

Aztecs, its very satisfying to easily build districts with builder charges even late game when districts are very expensive. Makes even tundra/snow cities easy to get going with a quick harbor.

So what do you feel is still broken?

Simon is broken, I've never been bored playing a civ but it feels like playing with an exploit. I'd like a way too select more than one unit and move them to an area, or give them all wait/fortify orders. I'd like to have great generals and such once they're linked up to not have their own...

How to Survive Rising Tide Apollo

Not much about diplomacy here yet so: Early on I usually pick the diplomatic agreement that gives you 4/8/12 science per agreement, and then just get as many 25/3 agreements as possible (the free worker one is excellent, but it doesn't really matter). Getting +60 science/turn for 15...

Anyone for an Apollo Challenge Line-up???

Good idea. I lurk most of the time and like reading especially the challenge threads, but there's so little going on on the BE(RT) part of this forum... I'd love to see something like this.

    Extremely frustrating AI behavior

'Not having fun' is a tricky problem - not something someone else can easily help you with - it's personal. Best answer is IMO: that sucks man, hope you have more fun in your next game. However, why not share! Post a playthrough of the game. Ask people to comment on key decisions you...

Share Your First BNW Experiences Here

I quit CIV5 vanilla pretty quick, but have to say BNW is much more fun. So for me it's a change from CIV IV to BNW basically. First I noticed is that naval combat and ships in general are MUCH more fun and far less hassle. Units being able to embark by themselves = best thing ever...
