It said the parents had 'scrimped and saved' to buy christmas presents for their children. Perhaps, and this is only my opinion, they couldn't really afford them and were looking for an excuse to get their money back for gifts which they couldn't really afford.

I think term-limits should be scrapped. I think politicians should remain in their positions until they are voted out, or step down.

Thatcher: she made some much needed reforms to the UK economy. She went off at the end, however, the supply-side of the economy improved greatly following her reforms. I like Atlee for introducing the NHS, but Thatcher gets my vote for her economic policies.

If there are two main parties it makes coalition governments less likely. In the UK it is a choice between the Tories and Labour;it means smaller parties aren't able to gain disproportionate influence in the decision making process, something i think is a good thing.

A Government would probably fall from power if they didn't act in the interests of their nation. Citizens expect their government to act in their interests, if they don't then they will probably elect a government that would.

I, as an Englishman, do not hate Bush. If i were able to vote in the US presidential election, something i followed religiously, i would have supported Bush over Kerry. I cannot speak for the 'rest' of Europe, but as a 'European' i do not dislike Bush.

In some of the cases it depends. If a problem is their fault i have little compassion, unless they wish to mend their ways, however, i have little compassion for those that don't want help and have only themselves to blame for their situation.

I thought that the Chinese government's position on one child per family was going to reduce the population of the country, i don't know? If this were true it would reduce their size of the world population and, according to some economists, result in labour shortages in the future.

I am pro choice, however, i believe it is murder, but don't feel i can impose my beliefs on others. I am also against the death penalty, i think it is unnecessary and life in prison is a harsher punishment.
