It seems an improvement in many ways over V, but jury is still out. I'll wait, I got burned twice with pre-ordering Civ (V and BE). It is probably the smart choice.
Nope, and not gonna happen.
How much will that cost in development time? How well will it sell? How much time will pass between "release" and a Civfanatics thread complaining "how easy" is the AI?
The AI is geared towards "adequate for most players" because it sells to more players: Most...
Anyway, since a mod merged my post here...
I tried to ignore all the bashing and get some useful info out of the thread, but from my perspective the useful conversation didn't help much.
My conclusion then is to ignore the expansion (and unfortunately it seems I should ignore this forum for...
I forgot my password so I tried to recover my account/password last week after a few unsuccessful tries.
I checked that I was using the correct username and the email address I used is the correct one (I still have the "welcome" email from the forum)
Unfortunately I never got the recovery...
Some context, I preordered BE and played it for awhile (A little over 100 hours, haven't touched base BE for almost 10 months)
While I didn't enjoyed BE as I enjoyed standard CIV games, I thought that with enough patches and a few expansion(s), it would improve enough.

I feel the problem with Firaxis is...
I think you only get the extra energy only on worked tiles regardless of it being improved or not + the bonus energy for the city (if the collector is over a city)
If you "work" a canyon tile AND you don't get the energy, then it is a bug.
I think the Devs mentioned one is planned, but management will crunch numbers before saying ok.
A big part of the number crunching will be sales and sales curve analysis, however the current negativity towards BE is not ideal. Marketing and sales guys will see "sub-par sales, existing...
Oddly I received a patch for multiple games (Including CivBE)
Each patch was a 12.8 MB download
Maybe it was a common component (C++ Runtime, DirectX?)
Edit: Launched BE, it was a Visual C++ Runtime update
I preordered and I wish I hadn't, same with CiV... The game seems new enough at first to play a few times but, after that *new* feeling disipates, the game seems bland, boring and as appealling as playing a game of checkers against yourself (seriously: I have dozed between turns many times)...
