    I agree with XDrake...Civ1 has pretty damn good AI for a 1980's DOS game. And about the combat system: sure, a phalanx CAN defeat a tank...but if you've got one army of modern tanks and infantry against an older army of outdated phalanxes I think we can all assume what the result would be.
