    Caveman 2 Cosmos (ideas/discussions thread)

Is there a way to give the AI a bonus in Revolution calculations, so that AI empires are less likely to lose cities? I like the challenge of playing with Revolutions, but I don't like how by the Classical era the number of AI empires has doubled because they can't seem to manage Revolutions.

    Caveman 2 Cosmos

Hi - I'm not sure if this is the place to report this, but I've noticed something strange in my current game (SVN 11375). It's on Long speed and Nightmare difficulty with 9 AIs (7 on my continent, two on smaller islands), and it's turn 346. I just got into the Ancient Era, while Mali is the...

Single Player bugs and crashes v38 plus (SVN) - After the 20th of February 2018

I think the main issue with Writing is that it impacts so many Myth buildings - something in the range of 180 - by replacing their +1 :science: with +1 :culture:. If you're aggressive with hunting you can easily have dozens and dozens of Myth buildings, to the point where the smart move is to...

    Caveman 2 Cosmos

For the Farm - Crop and Camp series of buildings, what if the +1 :gold: is replaced with another :food:? This would help reduce a bit of the gold in the game and the extra food would help with the slower growth curve.

    Caveman 2 Cosmos

I've been playing a v10561 game through the first third of the Ancient era, and have a few observations/suggestions for what they are worth. The game is Standard/Long, starting on Immortal and increased to Diety on T100. Among other options, I have Increased Production Costs, and I'm using...

Single Player bugs and crashes v38 plus (SVN) - After the 20th of February 2018

If I turn off Alt-Timelines, I get a number of error messages when loading the game, all of which refer to the Pepper2000 module. I am able to click past the error messages and get the game to load.

Luckily I'm neither, so the bug won't bother me much. :) Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the quick reply. Other than the difference in tech costs, how would prince/monarch play now as compared to a year ago? Does the AI at prince/monarch provide a greater challenge now than it used to?

    General A New Dawn discussion

I last played AND a year ago, where I would play at the highest difficulty levels (most often starting at Immortal with Increasing Difficulty). With the latest version, I find that if I try that, my tech costs are much, much higher than they used to. What changed with tech costs?

    General A New Dawn discussion

For some reason I can't take a screenshot, but I know my unit didn't move - it hasn't moved since I claimed the tile a hundred turns ago. EDIT: I used WB to give control of the tile back to me, but on the very next turn the Hittite unit stole it right back. I've uploaded the save after I...

    General A New Dawn discussion

I have a question about how fixed borders work. I claimed a tile outside one of my cities that my culture didn't reach yet (it was a hill across a river) and which had no culture on it. After signing an open borders treaty with the Hittites, one of their units (the Hittite Chariot) came along...

AND2 and SVN Bug Reports - A New Dawn 2 ONLY

I'm in turn 258 of an Epic game with revision 819, played on Immortal/Diety (i.e. Increasing Difficulty). At this point, all of the other thirteen AIs I have met are still running Barter. The -33%:science: penalty to Barter, IMHO, is really holding the AI back - I've essentially caught up to...

AND2 and SVN Bug Reports - A New Dawn 2 ONLY

No, it was not with Advanced Start. It's strange, I haven't had this issue with my latest game, so I'm not sure what's going on.

AND2 and SVN Bug Reports - A New Dawn 2 ONLY

I don't have any examples from the first turn, but I've attached the second example I mentioned above. Pre-Wonder is turn 117, two turns before the seven wonders were built. Post-Wonder is right after the wonders were build - looking into WB, all seven wonders were built on the same turn in...
