    AI Recommended City Locations?

I would also say it can view resources under fog. So many times I wondered why the hell it is blue-circling a tile, just to discover after I settle somewhere else that that blue circle's BFC had a juicy pigs hill. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure it cannot see unrevealed resources. I can...

Move stack to hill before attacking?

I often use the turns my catapults are bombarding city to deploy the gross of my stack on surrounding hills/forests, leaving a few units to protect the catapults. Avoiding river crossing is usually a must. Too much penalty unless your troops outmatch defenders by an era.

Let warrior/scout defend or move away from animals?

If you don't feel too much like cheating when reloading... let the lion come to you. If you want to be fair, then run, at least with first warrior.... Nothing more boring than 15 turns without anything to do after your lone warrior is dead and your first worker is still in the oven.

    Constrained random Leader

Hi, I like to pick a random leader in my games, but there is a bunch of them which I don't like to play as, like protective leaders and the ones I have recently played as. Is there any way I can restrict which leaders enter the hat of my random draws? I don't want to exclude any leader from...

    Best Traits For REXing?

My preferred REXer is Julius. Imperialistic because key factor in REXing is to be able to REX before your neighbors do. Organized because you need to sustain an early still-uncottaged big empire, and maintenance costs can easily kill you.

City Settlement and Tile Improvement Considerations

City specialization! You should try to specialize cities: - commerce cities: cottage heaven - army production cities: mines and workshops - GP farm / science city: farms and just build in each city those buildings rellevant to city specialty (markets and banks in commerce cities, forges and...

Charlemagne and HRE - A historical inconsistency in Civ4

Emperor Charles V (XVI century, aka king Charles I of Spain) is the fifth Charles because there was a first Charles who happened to be Charlemagne. So, regardless of whether Charlemagne was crowned as Holy or Unholy, his empire has always been identified with what later would be better known as...

Which tiles give bonus yield if settled on?

Like everything in the game, the best choice is very situational. Settling on hill plains is almost always a good move, but if you have enough food and no other hills to mine, it will be better to mine that hill for full hammer output. Settling on wine is also a very good choice (excellent...

Which tiles give bonus yield if settled on?

I would suggest you to start a dummy game, enter world builder and experiment yourself. I did upon reading this thread :) and this is what I concluded: - Settling on commerce resources results in 2:commerce: (3:commerce: for Fin leaders), only on riverside tiles. - Settling on food resources...

    What's missing, unit-wise?

Yeah, a sidecar motorbike unit would be pretty cool!!

    Best Way To Learn Difficulties?

Do you know the power of siege suicide? Bring with you throwaway catapults and do not hesitate anymore ;)

    Airships - any good?

I use them a lot, to weaken garrisoned units before attack, with both cavs ands rifles. They don't cause so much damage as siege units (damage is in fact capped), but their range is very wide, so you can often attack several cities from same base. Up to 4 airships can be based in a city (of...

    Best Way To Learn Difficulties?

What do you do with such a huge army? Sounds like you have an standing army, doing nothing. You need a good army to conquer your neighbors, and a huge army to do that final punch that will led you to Conquest or Domination. So I think you should better time your unit spamming momentum. Anyway...

What is *your* most important strategic resource?

^ I'm agree too... spears can be a PITA if you only have horses. My vote is for Copper. Iron is more important, sure, in the long term (Cannons!!!) but Copper comes earlier and it's scarcer than Iron. So, if you get Copper in BFC, you won't have any problem with Barbs or early AI attacks. You...

Thank you!!! :) I would recommend to all smokers here in the forums to become addict to WB instead :D
