because they cannot do wide expansions, they are forced to get by via trade. ...except if there are no civs/CSes near by you're practically doomed into tech-rushing to caravansaries So do you tech-rush or keep remaking new game until there are CS nearby?

Why is it I cannot build 1 cathedral when I've already have 3 temples total? When I hover over the cathedral icon the red "insufficient temples total" tooltip isn't there but it is still greyed/unclickable

Is having a state religion necessary? I just founded confucianism in my game & got a missionary but how does it compare to the free religion civic(seeing that it's cheaper than the other religion civics)?
