This is utterly irrrelevant for me I have no interest in a non history inspired 4x game, if I would there are plenty to pick from already that fill that need from studios that have far more experience and can reliably execute on said concepts. Amplitude to name just one. They off all studios...
To be blunt. I would not play a fantasy outing. Sci-fi, yes please. Fantasy, no thank you. If I want to play a turn based fantasy game there are far better alternatives.
In short, no. Forum activity is lets be blunt utterly irrelevant. While some people might think that a handful of very active users uphold the community that is simply not the case. The game is still played moreso then ever.
For a game this old the active player count is incredible. It had a...
I just came back into playing c2c and wanted to try out your modmod the thing is the directory you mentioned does not exist at all shall I just create it? I was expecting to drop it just into the mods folder. A bit of clarification would be appreciated.
Oh shoot I considered this to be dead and was actually playing Call to power (the actual game) earlier today, and now I see that this mod is getting love again!
Hype!
I do. Again what made c2c into what is is, is that it expands on the vanilla civ4 experience. If I want a stripped down civ I can play civ5 or civ6. I dont play civ to mappaint. There are better games for that.
To clarify what the LAA (Large Adress Awareness) makes it possible for a program to acess the whole memory adress space a 32 bit application can in theory acess 4 gb of ram at most.
Even if you have more and run a 64 bit system you will not get 4gb ram out of it that way but a max of 3.2 gb...
While I can understand the sentmiment I personally would not be interested in that. What makes c2c appealing is the complexity it offers, stripping that away in any way shape or form would hurt it imho.
Creating a Ramdisk speeds things up if the hdd is the bottleneck which it never really was I think in c2c. The problem is that civ4 is a x32 app and thus is capped at 3.2 gigs of ram as well as not multithreaded.
I hate the turn times as much as the next person but I think in the case of c2c...
You need investigation type units to keep such stuff from happening as well as units that have visibility (which means they can see other inivisible units) for the right type of visibility.
As a possible qoute for lead glass tech:
People are like stained - glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within.

I did not play with depleting resources. In my case metals overwrote the scace stone tiles with their respective stuff. Especially lead like half of all stone world wide got overwritten by lead.
The problem is that a lot of stuff has dependecies set as only stone and stone gets overwritten by metals quite often so its very common in my games that at a later time you have no stone but dependencies ask for stone specificially where bricks would work as well or better.
I had to check...
