The AI isn't worse than in V, but VI is a much harder game for it to play

It is interesting that you mention 1830 as an example of a good AI (I agree with your points and it is my observation as well that the game as an excellent AI). 1830 was developed by SimTex (also producer of two fantastic benchmark games that also had good AI's in Master of Orion and Master of...

Lovely. The cross indexing is poor on the site then. Check what is available under the Fubuki class destroyer page: http://www.combinedfleet.com/ships/fubuki Good find. I will look to do some spot checking probably, but what I have is fairly close I think.

    W-I-P: Storm Over the Pacifc

I think I have a pretty good representation of what was where based on the research I did and while there are some guesses in there, I think it is pretty close. Short of investing a ton more time into it along with doing a lot of actual leg work, it probably won't get a lot better...

    W-I-P: Storm Over the Pacifc

Aye, that is one of the sites I used, but especially for the smaller ships, they don't have a very complete list of what was where. Case in point, there were 20 something Fubuki class destroyers. Only 1 has a TROM, which doesn't exactly help me with where the other 20 or so were.

    W-I-P: Storm Over the Pacifc

It has been a bit since I popped in to post some stuff. RL has been taking a toll on my available time. The first run of ship info is pretty much done now. There are a few things left (merchant shipping units, etc), but by and large the stats are done. There have already been some...

Note for the C class. I believe this is more properly the Ca-Co class that were built during the war http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C-class_destroyer_(1943) and not the C class of the 1930's. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C_and_D_class_destroyer

Not a huge deal either way, but for purposes of accuracy. Delta, which version do you have for the Dido class CL? There was a 5 turret (early) version and a 4 turret later version (and several of the 5 turret version were converted to 4 turret later in the war). The only version to see action...

    W-I-P: Storm Over the Pacifc

Looks like I need to catch up a bit. :D While the different tech trees based on position may be a bit more work, it is far easier once you have them done to make adjustments on just how fast you would like a given side to progress through the tech tree. El Justo and I had a early discussion...

    W-I-P: Storm Over the Pacifc

I don't see a need to represent the Thai navy in game as the two coastal ships were not in service at the start of our scenario. (They had a scrape with the Vichy fleet in January of 41 and lost badly). One of the ships was raised and reparied by the Japanese and then used as a training vessel...

Actually, he was the Captain of the Olympia at the time. He didn't die during the battle, but passed away on June 5th while enroute to the US due to ill health. (Battle of Manila Bay was at the end of April). The Olympia is actually part of a maritime museum in Philly these days and I...

    W-I-P: Storm Over the Pacifc

No worries. I just wanted to point it out as I figured there may be different versions of the ships. Gearing class increased hull length by 14 feet. (390 ft vs 376). The other difference is the Gearings mount a few more 40mm and 20mm AA guns. I tossed the Gearings in there although they will...

    W-I-P: Storm Over the Pacifc

On the list, which graphic is available for which old battleship? The old battleships with 30 defense have been rebuilt, including a vastly different superstructure and 5/38 guns. The Colorado and New Mexico class were not rebuilt in our game and use the 5/25 AA guns. Also, Saratoga has 5/38...

    W-I-P: Storm Over the Pacifc

Some notes for the US list. The improved subs are for when the US get their torpedo issues fixed. The Fletcher, Sumner, and Gearing classes are considered to have "fixed" torpedoes. The CVE units represent more than 1 CVE, which is why they have the stats they have. The US had a lot of...
