I tested about 3 times with 3 different outcomes.
With Vietnam on Prince, had some hard work pushing the hordes away but was doable; the AI fared well too. The map was fully colonized.
With Greece on King, I lost 1 city and barely saved another in a foreign continent cause the zombies...
I had a fun game with Maya. Pachacuti was a pain from the start stealing my settling spots and declared 2 wars against me, with lots of disasters as a scenario.
I had to prioritize aqueducts and dams to avoid heavy losses. At one moment I saw Cusco being hit hard by a volcano and decided to...
I had an emperor game (small maps) where Cleo declared a surprise war at me and my ally Mansa Musa. Soon Cyrus joined her and Kristina/Pedro joined us.
Never saw a world war before. Cleo was wiped out and Cyrus became a North Korea of sorts.
Guys, I definitely have some issues with the EXP. Looks like loading times take forever and I’m not able to use the best AA configuration anymore - the map vanishes if I do that.
The game is slower for me. Anybody out there with something similar?
Need to change the name Ottawa to Drought City, I had 4 of them at least. I’m playing with level 4 disasters.
Brazil settled near 2 double volcanos that erupt frequently, and lost population already.
Looks like envoy and governor points are slower to get than R&F.
Two games so far. Really enjoyed playing the Cree and Mapuche and the IA is significantly better.
The Cree scouts were very useful and got upgraded to powerful Spec Ops, that were useful to strike Cleo - she backstabbed me and triggered an emergency at another continent; the parachute ability...
I think the UA has great value. Get some early gold, finance early expansion, units and buildings. Obviously you need to found cities like a maniac to get more advantage.
I agree that perception may be different on Deity, though. You can try and see for yourself. [emoji6]
CIV BE was criticized by many due to the little flavor in each civilization, as far as I read.
In my opinion, this kind of flavor keeps the replayability, it is the motive I played roughly 1000 hours so far.
You're welcome. In late game, I remember that the amount of gold earned with city connections (10 cities, standard map) was similar to that obtained with trade routes. Sadly, I didn't have mountains neaby to get Machu Picchu...
