RBTS6 - Finally Ready for Noble!

I just read this whole 21-page thread, 11.5 years after it was completed. It holds up! Kudos to all involved, wherever the winds have taken them.

Specializing cities- what to give up?

Thank you so much for the answers. I've generally avoided wealth/research in all but the most extreme circumstances, just figuring it couldn't be efficient since it only gives immediate help instead of a city improvement that helps for the rest of the game. Its the same reason I never bulbed...

Specializing cities- what to give up?

I've been getting back into Civ4 the last couple months, and I'm trying to make the leap from Monarch to Emperor. I've read a good bit on the forums about the importance of specializing cities, and I think I get that as far as placing National Wonders and choosing between food/specialists and...

    BOTM67 (Sumeria) - First Spoiler

I've been getting back into Civ4 lately, and I came across the GOTM forum so I figured I'd give this game a try. I'm done with the game, but I'm going to be scrupulous about obeying the spoiler rule, so I'll just say that as of 1 AD I had already concluded that my play style is formulaic to a...

    Announcing BUFFY

I did that, but when I started the game nothing had changed (I still had to go load BUFFY manually). When I quit the game and checked the .ini file, it had been overwritten with the original version somehow. I repeated the procedure to verify- same result. I'm using a Steam version of BTS...

    Announcing BUFFY

Sorry for the newb/repeat question, but I looked through the thread and FAQ and couldn't find the answer. How do I get BUFFY to automatically load when I start the game instead of going to advanced/load a mod each time? Thanks in advance!

    ALC 27: Churchill of England

This thread has made me aware that I'm learning to play Civ from certain folks, even though I've been playing Civ literally since before they were born!!! I can't decide if that's either depressing, or really depressing. Good luck w/ the SAT, regardless!

Oops, sorry, didn't know. I'll just shadow quietly.

    ALC 27: Churchill of England

Thanks for running this one. I'm a monarch-level player, but trying to learn, so I'm looking forward to shadowing. To wit, I've played the first thousand years, and... Anyway, can't wait to see how things go. Thanks!

    NC XXXIII: Washington

I've used it for this purpose before (too lazy to set up a usual-suspect account), but maybe you're right and they've just changed their rules.

Monarch/Normal, 625 BC (was having so much fun I forgot the time): BTW, I tried to put http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_TW38JlsWZ7A/SprU-YS08II/AAAAAAAAAxU/SUHKcbKO-EE/s1600-h/Washington+Noble+Challenge+625+BC.JPG inside image tags for a screenshot, but I see nothing when I click save. Anybody see...
