I think the point is, at higher levels you will fall so far behind by getting religion, you won't catch up science or culture wise. The bonuses you get aren't enough. But yes at lower levels I remember doing religion and having fun with it.

See the post above me. There are many Pro's. The only real Con is the Computer Player (I refuse to call it AI.) If the Computer Player could play well, this is a great game.

Switch to Theocracy for 5 turns, buy a ton of stuff with the natural faith built up. I don't understand the comment, "not planning to run Theocracy." This is Civ 6. You run lots of things. You don't leave 10 tanks on the table just because you weren't planning on stumbling into 10 easy tanks.

I assume the extra policy card slot is supposed to follow whoever owns the wonder, or at least that is how I think it should be designed. Because it makes for more engaging play if the player gets penalized by losing that extra slot when his wonder is stolen from him. He doesn't deserve to...

Now that I have played civ6, I doubt I will play civ5 ever again. Civ5 wasn't fun until the expansion. I actually went back to civ4 for a long time until civ5 became a good game. Civ6 is already fun.
