Insert Civ III CD Rom - Dont have a CD

Well, I own a licensed copy of both Civ 3 and Play The World. I also installed a patch (1.27F) and now I get the same message. Even when the CD is in the CD Drive it still does not recognise it. VERY ANNOYING!!!

Problem after installing 1.27F Patch in UK

After installing the "UK" 1.27F patch, I am being asked to put the CD in the CD drive. Well, as it's already in there I'm a little bit stumped what to do. This means I can't join in multiplayer games as I do not have the right version. Can anyone please help? Thanks

No choice over razing a city or not

Thanks Guys. The automatic raze is a nusience. In a real-life situation if you were to defeat all the military in a camp or town, you would not necessarily have to burn it to the ground. Surely it's the responsibility of the civ to ensure that a new Settlement has sufficient defence to prevent...

No choice over razing a city or not

Thanks Zachriel It's become important as I am playing the current GOTM and wanted to capture a chinese town as soon as it was created. However, I end up just destroying it which means I have lost the potential two workers that I would have had if I were to just take the Settler out before...

No choice over razing a city or not

Can anyone else help Stalin006 and I on this? My thinking is that it might be best to wait a few turns (enough for a city to build an improvement) before attacking. Also, then during war, would the AI only build Military (hence making a wait a waste of time)?

No choice over razing a city or not

No choice over razing a city or not

So is there a defined set of criteria which draw the line between razing or not?

No choice over razing a city or not

Why is it that sometimes you do not get a choice over whether to raze or keep a city? Once you have defeated the last unit in the city, you are automatically informed that you have destroyed it (usually by "burning it to the ground"!) Really stuck on this one... LBC

    Why to raze cities

There must be some criteria that determines whether you have the choice of keeping a recently captured city or not. Does anyone know what it is? :crazyeye:
