Was the Strategy Gaming Era really mid-2000s? That's the look I remember, but I thought I started playing way before 2000. In any case, cool to trip down memory lane for this (recently returned) old-timer :)
New to Civ VI, so apologies for resurrecting a years old thread for what seems like a stupid question, but I can't find the answer in the civilopedia and have not been able to read through all of this thread yet: What governs or influences the rate of growth of the city borders? I think I...
Hello. I was heavily involved in CivFanatics way back in the CIV III/IV days, but life and such took me in other directions for several years. Circumstances have changed yet again, and I just downloaded CIV VI Anthology last night. Looking forward to getting involved with Civ again, and perhaps...
I occasionally see references from Civ-Assist II about switching to the "lone scientist" method for researching techs. Can someone fill me in on what that is?
TIA
Is there a quick guide anywhere to how to prepare for a government change, best government for different styles, etc? In Civ II when you changed gov'ts, once you came out of anarchy you could try every government available to you before the end of that turn, so it was really easy to see if you...
I"ve only played thus far on standard maps and have had this problem in two consecutive games. And in answer to Aceman, no, it seems to work okay when clicking advisors button then Military advisor. Although it doesn't always crash with the F3 key, either, so it's a little hard to pin down a...
I"ve looked around, but haven't seen this addressed. I have had some issues with the game crashing when using F3 to access the Military Advisor. In my current game it began happening right after I entered Golden Age. That seems to have been my experience previous game as well, although I cannot...
Will precision attacks still bomb units in the city? Is there any way to ONLY bomb the units in a city and not the improvements?
Your second assumption seems to be false, as my reason for asking the question is that both buttons came up for my stealth aircraft (fighters, anyway-don't recall...
REsearched Smart Weapons near the end of my most recent game, and noticed two new buttons for stealth aircraft: precision bombing and precision strikes. The civilopedia only mentions precision strikes. I tried both a time or two and didn't see that they did anything differently than regular...
Forgive my ignorance, but what is the Iron Works and how does one get it? I see the clue above about having iron and coal in the same city. Is it a small wonder? I don't see a reference to it in my C3C manual index.

I'll have to look up that article some evening at home.
So now I'm wondering if the FP is even worth building, unless with a leader? Does it impact corruption enough overall to be worthwhile? Building it in a core city certainly would be easier, I'll admit.
