Well, I played a few more games as the Dutch. The dike helps a lot with a space race victory, but just doesn't appear early enough to swing the game for earlier victories. And I ended up building cities on coasts that would have been better inland. Still a great UB though.

I played as the Netherlands for the first time the other day. I thought the dike would work in the same way as the levee (can only build if your city is on a river) but is is more like the Moai wonder - all water tiles get a hammer (and all river tiles, of course) In the space of 5 turns...

Jeelen, you maps look excellent. However, my PC is quite old and I can't play maps bigger than small (or normal sometimes) Do you have any Extra maps that are not quite so big? Anyway, downloading the new Extra now - thanks Chiyu. I have 5 hours free this evening....

great tips here - good stuff. There is no way to choose where the holy city appears is there? I had a game yesterday when it appeared in the "mines and farms only" city and had to chase the later religions.

great tips here. Here's another good one... Make your 2nd city a military production city. Just farms and mines, then pump out units. Non stop, unless you really need a building. (I often run an engineer to get an early Great Engineer to fast build a high cultrue wonder there, otherwise...

please don't change it! It is excellent for taking over another continent. Also, tsentom's version is similar to the current Tower of Babel. I love this mod. One thing though - I don't think the Cure for Cancer or the Theory of Evol projects are working properly (no text by them either).

futurehermit - If you want to tech well later in the game it is important to settle your great people. Under representation they will add up to a good number of beakers. If you don't care about teching as well later in the game then you can use them to lightbulb techs to get a tech advantage...
