    4-City Tradition Start in BNW

The former is what I've been doing with most of my Tradition starts in BNW. I play mostly Deity, sometimes Immortal. I'm just saying you can have a very strong game with the latter as well, and sometimes it feels like a better choice to get those cities settled before NC, depending on the...

    Attila? Aggressive? Inconceivable!

Only had this happen once. Kamehameha did it on Immortal. Completely ruined a city for me, stealing multiple resources. There was never a war between us in that game, but if I wasn't busy fighting Hiawatha and Gustavus he would've paid.

Those who have played Civ5 for thousands of hours: how do you remain interested?

Funny, after 1100 hrs I've barely touched scenarios, have about 55% of achievements, never played a GotM and never tried modding. Good tips though.

    4-City Tradition Start in BNW

I build trade units when I have my cities and workers down, and can protect them from barbs and stuff (archers). Cargo ship > caravan. Early routes should not be to CS unless you have a quest. On Deity you can get so much science from routes that you want an early route to another civ. Second...

    4-City Tradition Start in BNW

I get this, but what I'm asking is if you really want to risk losing a good city spot just to finish NC so early.

    Why choose order?

Do you get a free courthouse in a city you captured before adopting Iron Curtain?

    4-City Tradition Start in BNW

I agree with this unless you're isolated and can't use ships (not coastal or w/e). Food caravans is better than sending to CS for gold. Why is t70 so important? There is no difficulty level specified in the OP. I wouldn't risk losing out on a good 2nd expansion spot just because I need to...

Those who have played Civ5 for thousands of hours: how do you remain interested?

I started playing CiV in january and am approaching 1100 hours. I've barely played another game since I started. I feel there is always some sort of challenge for me. I want to win with every civ, I want a Deity culture victory in BNW where I can feel I'm building up tourism early and not it...

    City Growth tips

joshua gives great advice. I'll fill in some more. Plan your happiness! Get happiness buildings/trade for luxes/ally mercantiles in time so you don't fall into unhappiness. Never neglect CS quests, maritimes and mercantiles provide the food and happiness you need to grow at lightning speed...

How many hours played do you have?

Absolutely not. You're totally fine. Be proud of who you are!

    4-City Tradition Start in BNW

I think you have to be more adaptable. You can't settle as many spots ASAP as you could in G&K. Sometimes you get lucky with early DoF(s) and you can go for 3 more cities before NC (2 produced, 1 bought settler), but most of my Tradition starts have seen me settle the most delicious location...

    Too many trees!

Usually not. Consulates is a no-brainer and you might want philantropy, but other than that there are better picks - mainly in Rationalism and your ideology.

    Ultimate War Deity Challenge #1

Did you stack the opponents deck? Askia is the odd one out for me in this case, he's usually one of the weakest opponents.

    City size five?

If you have an average+ food start and build a Granary you should be able to get to five 5 pop in time for Collective Rule (Liberty Settler policy). It just make sense to get there before producing settlers with a Liberty start. That's my guess.
