There's a few things to note: (I'm assuming you're playing the complete edition with all the expansions)
Combat:
1. Cities can't defend themselves. If it's empty any military unit can capture it without a fight.
2. Units can stack, and stacking is important. In Civ 4 a large stack is usually...
So I've decided to finally start using mods for Civ 5 now that the complete edition is out and compatibility issues should stop.
I've been trying to find something nice to play with, but it seems that a lot of the mods don't seem to work with the complete edition and many don't even say what...
I'd have to wait for it to come out so I can see some "let's play"s of it.
I keep wishing it was either Alpha Centauri 2 or a sequel to the Sci-Fi mode in Test of Time, but sadly it's neither. I don't really see why they're trying to start up a new Civilization sci-fi universe when they already...
It purely depends on your taste of games. I've always preferred TOT, but my dad sticks with standard Civ 2.
As far as why that is, I like Civ 2, but prefer having a bit of variety in gameplay, so having access to the extended original, sci-fi and fantasy game types included in TOT is a big +...
I've always thought that having a "nomad" start option for Civ games would be fun. Players are forced to take, say, 25 turns before being able to found their first city. Then people would explore and try to find the best place to settle down in the first 15 or so turns then run back to it to...
This post assumes that you have the Beyond the Sword expansion updated to version 3.19. If you don't have beyond the sword some of these features won't work (such as siege weapons dealing splash)
First of all when playing if you press and hold your right mouse button (like moving or attacking...
I'm going to be a critic here, with no intention to burst your bubble so please don't take offence if I come across as harsh.
I'd love a game that combines the best of both, but what "best" is completely depends on who you talk to, as you mentioned. For example, do you stack units like in Civ...
Yup, this is for the barbarian scenario in Civilization 4: Warlords.
I'd like to help but I haven't played this particular scenario for at least 5 years, and can't remember it much.
Okay, so I've had the same problem. As a Civ/Colonization veteran of 15+ years I lost my first game of Civ4: Colonization on the easiest difficulty level. (not fun at all for a veteran)
Now I was looking at these forums today, and found that soon after the release they came out with a patch...
I've been thinking, and I think that if they made an "expansion" for Civ 5 that primarily focused on a "Colonization" official mod they could sell an awful lot of copies if they included a Civilization or two (or three, etc. :D)for the normal Civ 5 game that you can't get anywhere else. (like...
I think they should put the Zulus in. They are a big community favorite and have been featured in every Civ game before Civ 5. I see no reason to leave them out.
