It may still be early, but I'm confident that my Civ IV days are behind me. I've been playing a marathon game on a huge map for about 6 hours. I'm absolutely wrapped up in it. I'd have played all night if I didn't have to be at work. I see these posts suggesting that Civ V was made for consoles...
Ok so this thread garnered more attention than I expected. Some of you guys mistook a rant and some frustration for nerd rage. That wasn't the case at all. Was I disappointed? Damn straight. Was I throwing a fit and condemning the world? No. In fact I went to bed not long after my last post. Now...
Negative. It says my game can't be installed because it is not released yet. However it's well in to the 21st and I have a retail copy in my hands. Apparently I have to wait 9 hours for Steam to decide it's acceptable for me to use the software I purchased.
By my clock it's 40 minutes in to 9/21. That's two hours ahead of Steam headquarters in PST time. They're showing the game won't be unlocked for another 9 hours. That's well beyond midnight PST as well. Little peeved I bought a game legitimately on it's release date and can't install it. Never...
I'm not one to jump on the "I hate Steam" bandwagon, but after picking up a copy of Civ tonight at Walmart I find that I can't install and play the game. Steam says it's not released. To heck it isn't! I've got it in my hands. But no, I have to wait for some arbitrary time for Steam to "unlock"...
Well the beginning of the video was new to me, but it wasn't long before they loaded up the same demo we've seen in several other videos. My apologies for re-posting content. Got a little too excited I guess. =P

It was a 93, just like the UK review if I'm not mistaken. Starcraft II got the same score in the same issue if that's of any relevance. It sounds like the same review as the UK version to be honest. Some of the things in the OP sound very familiar to what was said in the US publication.
Hey guys, long time lurker but one of my few posts. I picked up a copy of PC Gamer US and wanted to quote a few things from the review. I still want to wait until I have my hands on the game, but what I read here didn't instill a lot of confidence in two key aspects of AI combat and diplomacy...
I just registered this morning after finding the site under the links section at Civ4: Colonization's official site. I found this topic to be very compelling and as a new turn-based strategy player, and new Colonization player as well, I was hoping my input would be of some use. If not to the...
