    Civilization VII Wishlist

I think this is a very interesting idea. I like it a lot. It does strike me as the kind of thing that might sound cool on paper, but isn't fun in gameplay-reality, but I definitely think it's worth... exploring... (in an alpha state) It meshes well with an idea I've been batting around which...

Is CIV really just an upgraded game of MULE? Irrata World Map

I loved M.U.L.E. Yes I eat fiber every day.

    Civilization VII Wishlist

If Firaxis wants to truly improve the game, and not just cash in on the next sequel in the franchise, they need to focus on two things: 1. By far the most important thing is to make each age/era interesting. The early game is good - it's chock full of exploration, choices, planning, etc. It's a...

    [NFP] Is Civ 6 doomed?

I'm done with Civ 6 - I've had plenty of fun, but it doesn't grip me anymore. The game is way too front loaded for me - all the planning, exploration, interesting military situations, and most of the interesting decisions all happen in the beginning, and then the rest of the many hours of...

So what do you feel is still broken?

The standout issue for me: it's (still) very frustrating that you can't look at your great works when you have the archaeological artifact selection available. Small issue, but very annoying. In the bigger picture, the AI still can't seem to properly set in motion a war-time economy and pursue...

Why did CIV discard Conquest Victory?

The problem you describe is the universal problem with basically every victory condition. The main challenge in this game (other than figuring out optimum building-planning, which is mostly solitaire) is almost entirely about overcoming the AI's starting advantage. Once you hit the inflection...

Religious Victory is too difficult and unrewarding

I hope in the next Civ that religion goes back to being a support system rather than a unit-supported win condition. It definitely has a place in Civ, but I don't enjoy the whole "alternate war layer" that it currently is.

Would you change the Fallout series?

New Vegas was a masterpiece. The only thing it "funneled" you towards was the end of the game - how you got there was more varied and interesting than any other RPG I've ever played. Just look up some of the videos on all the different possible outcomes you could pursue in the various side and...

    Oxygen Not Included

I've just had it for a couple weeks and I'm about to hit 100 hours played. I like this game a lot. It plays like a mashup between Rimworld/DF and Factorio. In a Terraria-looking universe. Very challenging, too. I've avoided all how-to videos and just plugged along and had a great time figuring...

How often do you continue saved games?

I save games and keep playing, but I also rarely finish games. The early game is full of interesting choices and drama, while the late game is mostly an efficiency simulation with lots of annoying fluff to deal with.

    How does global warming work?

90% of players agree that it's our fault, however it works!

    Has gaming turned a corner?

We're in a golden age for lower budget titles. The number of games available on steam is staggering. But the cost is that many big budget games have a harder time getting the market share they need to be profitable. People have so many choices, if a game isn't exactly what they want, they can...

    Stellaris

I've had quite a bit of fun with Stellaris and Cities:Skylines, the base versions. I'd love to explore their addons. But to do so would require me to spend about 300 dollars (150 for each). That's just ridiculous.

Unpopular opinion: people that blame AI don't play on deity

A good AI would provide an immersive challenge instead of a contrived one. And of course the AI could be handicapped to varying degrees for lower difficulties.
