What options do you turn on when you start a new game? and what map type are you using? I'm a pangea kind of guy myself
I'm experiencing what you are describing for sure, I've always been inclined to go for a "huge" map with 10 civs - I like the feel of exploring a giant land mass but at end...
think i've been at war with them for 30+ turns,
even when a civ as the "refuses to talk" you can still bring up the diplomacy box, in this case nothing comes up.
Don't remember if this was an issue in Civ4 as well - I'm at war with a particular civ (Khazad), left them with 4 cities and I want to make them an offer of being my vassal. However, when clicking their name on the right side of the main game screen (where it shows their score, alignment, etc)...
Not sure if anyone else is having this problem with this page- http://www.civfanatics.com/civ4/strategy/map_guide.php
I don't see any images loading up as before, being replaced by html text
edit: using both Firefox and IE and get the same outcome
have been getting the error message for a few weeks.. today I took an earlier post suggestion and typed in www.civfanatics.com into the address bar and the site loaded up for me.. but I had to use my iphone to access the site first to see this.
I used to just go into google and type civfanatics...
Giving the game a run through as the Sheaim as I wanted to try to be as evil as possible..;)
Researched the tech for Ashen Veil and decided to bring in Hyborem through infernal pacts. At this point, the AV has spread to all of my cities, have about 12 - 4 are 20 pop plus...
Myself, I can't get away from Terra maps... as I like to be the first one to the "new world"
and since I'm at work right now and can't boot up civ4 to try the other maps... ;)
what's everyone's preference to play on and why?
Just how useful is this project? (and on another note, what is the difference in the wording: Team Project vs World Project???) and how does it work? A one shot influx of technologies or does it continually give you free techs that other civs have researched? I find the description in game...
I like the lumbermills idea.. more than enough historical evidence to show lumber mills being used by the romans in the 3rd century AD - I think they presently come too late in the game
