What kind of interaction would you like to have in these threads, first one didn't see many posts. Started playing the map on monarch because I still have forgotten pretty much everything I ever knew. Normal Speed, NHNE.

Great to see that these still get posted, thanks @Fish Man , played this ~3 hours on stream yesterday on Monarch because I've forgotten pretty much everything probably.
Could be a lake as well, I think the tooltip of the tiles next to it can give info about that. Depending on what settling reveals I'd consider starting with a worker and let the city grow, since there isn't much to work for your worker right now anyway.
First thank you @Undefeatable for keeping NC alive. Haven't played Civ IV in a long time and started this scenario for a little comeback. Went with monarch since it has been a long time.
Hello, I'm normally playing on Standard, Quick if doing MP with friends (which is very rare for me), online seemed always to fast for a Civ Game to me.
My question is, is there any information/experience about how Game Speed affects difficulty? I assumed it would be harder on quicker speeds...
I actually lost a city to a Deity AI after the Patch. But it was a city I have taken from then in a war before that.
(I retook the city two rounds later and annexd the AI shortly after that, but the AI was actually quick enough to get the city before I could rearrange my troops)
I play most of the time in strategic view since ~1 week, the only thing I'd like would be a sort of very transparent color filling of my borders to better see where my empire is and where not. But yes it's great!
In another thread theorizing about 1-pop cities empire the OP mentioned using trade routes to get growth going. In >90% of cases I focus on the highest production yield for my trade routes, most of them are also internal. Often when a trader is free I look over my empire to see which city could...
Had a cav rush game yesterday on deity and had to fight walls even in the first City I took (china) but usually still works. Cleaned my continent (two civs) and came with Cav for the second one. I actually played sloppy afer that, a good chunk of my continent stayed empty bc I only build one or...
If at all possible, sadly you can not chop into the district you want to build, since the production goes into the current production, even if you change it in the same turn.
nothing stops you, early rushes are as far as I can tell viewed as most efficient strategy right now, warriors plus archers can take out several cities, even on deity.
Some are generally weak like Goddess of the hunt or God of Craftsmen, but Fertility Rites, Divine spark and Religious settlemens seem useful. Dance of the Aurora can be interesting for Russia (tundra bias), same with sacred path for Brazil (and rainforrest overall being more usefull than tundra)...
Slingers are extremely useful, since you can upgrade them to archers for only 30 ducats. You can easily have 1/2 warriors and 3/4 slingers before getting archery and have then a force good enough to take a city or two.
