Would it be possible to replace the Hero promotion for Taranis with the seraph-style resurrection in the capital city? Having an immobile unit retreat out of his city location is pretty pointless.
It's difficult, certainly. I am able to win consistently with my favourite civs, so perhaps I fancy being put in my place now and again. -- But difficulty is a different issue from this simple problem of game mechanics. It simply will not answer for an immobile unit to retreat from the city...
Is it possible to change the Taranis unit from a normal Hero to a capital city rebirth (like the Seraph)? Since it is an immobile unit, retreating from defeat like an ordinary Hero makes the poor fellow a beggar outside of the city walls.
The trouble with the level 6 idea is that when experienced Good-aligned troops are slain in the world, they are reborn to the Mercurians as high level angels. With Herbalism, level 6 is rather easy to reach with potions, as well. I'd favor changing the 5 gold upgrade cost to 500 gold or so.
I played Hafgan the Purger (Clan of Embers) as a change of pace and of course made a sad mess of things (not a good match with my playing style!). Fortunately, a Great Engineer was born, and in desperation, I built the Mercurian Gate and switched to Basium (Yay!).
After an astonishing...
There is no question that barbarians are very dangerous since version 5. I usually play with medium-sized maps, and the first hundred turns are definitely a fight for survival. It's the goblin archers that are most dangerous, as they are overpowered in the early game.
I haven't commented on...
Love these changes!
My only suggestion would be for this one:
- [CLASS] Beast King now gives +str, +healing, +first strike to animal units.
I like to play with that one, but it's unfortunate that most animals move at speed 1, while the Beast King will almost always move 2 or more. I'd rather...
I usually play fairly large (elf size?) maps with ten civs and 1800 turn games. I guess maybe 1 game in 12 or so will develop a ctd problem. I've never crashed with 8 or less civs.
So I started a new game as Lorelei Coral of the Amurites and I was doing well, when the Swift Nell's ambassador pleaded for my help. I decided to switch to the Balseraphs, who had a nice civilization going, but had two problems. First, their cities were unhealthy and disorderly, because they...
Or maybe make it two part? Perhaps the first one could be something like "Declaration of Faith" and might double the relationship penalty for different faith civs (and maybe add +1 happiness and culture for cities of that faith?), and the second one (repeating the cost) would win the game.
I won a Faith Victory with the Sheim playing Order religion, so I will second the suggestion that the required faith total for that victory should be raised.
