Definitely not a necessary tactic for immortal, but on Diety I think everything is really about trying to exploit whatever you can. Immortal is quite a fair difficulty for better players, especially after G+K.

Things like this never seem to happen to me on immortal. I routinely get rushed by spearmen and warriors that can just be farmed for experience even when my opponents have the techs for better units... This game makes no sense.

I'm quite certain that Keshiks are still phenomenal. They've been extremely overpowered for me in G+K as they were in Vanilla.
